When Robert Rodriguez was forced out of the director’s chair for Princess of Mars – his inclusion of Frank Miller as co-director on Sin City required Rodriguez to resign his director’s guild membership which in turn made him ineligible to direct within the studio system – it left a film that Paramount was counting on as a major tent-pole project in disarray, but it looks as though they’ve found a quality hand to bring the film to completion. Coming Soon is reporting that Paramount has signed Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow helmer Kerry Conran to take over the Mars project.
