— Posted by John Campea

3monster.jpgThe Korea Times has just run an english language review of Three: Monster – being released as Three: Extreme in Hong Kong – and it sounds good. For those not in the know this is an anthology film made up of a trio of half hour horror films from Chan-Wook Park (Oldboy), Takashi Miike (Audition, Ichi the Killer), and Fruit Chan. Check out the review herehere and the trailer for Park’s installment here.

The sequel, or the original Three? If it’s the Park / Chan / Miike one … damn, that’s one quick bootlegger. I like the original one a lot, too, especially the Korean segment. It’s by the guy who made Tale of Two Sisters.

"History prefers legends to men. It prefers nobility to brutality, soaring speeches to quite deeds. History remembers the battle, but forgets the blood. However, history remembers me before I was a President. It shall only remember a fraction of the truth."
