Three: Monster Review

— Posted by John Campea

3monster.jpgThe Korea Times has just run an english language review of Three: Monster – being released as Three: Extreme in Hong Kong – and it sounds good. For those not in the know this is an anthology film made up of a trio of half hour horror films from Chan-Wook Park (Oldboy), Takashi Miike (Audition, Ichi the Killer), and Fruit Chan. Check out the review herehere and the trailer for Park’s installment here.

The sequel, or the original Three? If it’s the Park / Chan / Miike one … damn, that’s one quick bootlegger. I like the original one a lot, too, especially the Korean segment. It’s by the guy who made Tale of Two Sisters.

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."
