I loved the first film, and while it may be interesting to see where the characters are now

note that one of the big plotlines of the first film was the lead character having to keep playing league soccer a secret from her family- as well as a romantic intrest in her coach.

Do the characters go to college and play the big games?

But the big advantage is that Parminder Nagra and especially Keira Knightley are getting up there in name value. As for Miss Nagra, an actor going into/back to/appearing in theatrical films is nothing new. ER is a big cast. If there’s a good story involved, the cast returns, it’s worth checking out.

Oh, and one last thing. both ladies are smokin’ hot.

Hmm, I liked “Bend it Like Beckham”, but this strikes me as a movie that could do without a sequel. However, if the story is good, I’ll recant.
