Ben Affleck and Will Smith in Affermative Action

Ok here’s the deal. I’m actually a Ben Affleck fan. A number of his movies have been just horrible (but you can’t really blame the actors for that) and he’s been in he headlines for all the wrong reasons, but I still think the man is a fine actor and has the potential to be around a long long time.

Having said that, I was pretty glad to hear the news the it looks like Ben is teaming up with Will Smith to do a comedy/action film called “Affirmative Action. The good folks over at Freeze Dried Movies give us this:

When a black soldier goes A.W.O.L. after committing a crime, a South Boston cop and a FBI agent who don’t share the same racial views are teamed to find him. Affirmative Action was written by Jeffrey Abrams and is currently in development at Jerry Bruckheimer Films. Buena Vista will distribute the picture.

Personally, I think this one has potential. We’ll just wait and see.

  1. Hmm……I think this type of material could work well as a drama that deals with race relations, however making it a “buddy action comedy” smells of a rhash of National Security. Remember that Martin Lawerence flick????

It would also be interesting to see if Will Smith or Ben Affleck will get top billing in this movie. Smith’s action movies always make $$$ while Affleck has been on a huge losing streak lately!

  2. good, Jlo really screwed his life up hardcore, its time he get back business. i think he should go back to doing the action flicks again, i really like pearl harbour, armageddon and the sum of all fears. who better to mentor him than will smith.

  3. Yes; I couldn’t agree more. I too like Mr Affleck, ever since I say Dazed and Confused, I was a fan. And of course I have to like Will Smith, I mean I own a tape of D.J. Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. So I am so proud of what Will has accomplished thus far. Both guys are funny and have proven they can handle the action roles.
