Brad Pitt to star as Jesse James

BradPitt.jpgWell there’s three guys writing here and an extra one on the audio edition, and we all struggle with innuendo and cheap leching at sexy ladies, so I thought it about time that the ladies get some. See, I can’t stop!

Not only is Brad Pitt now reportedly single, but it looks like he’s returning to the days of long hair. Personally I think hair is over rated, shaved is the way to be, however each to their own. Why the long hair Mr Pitt? Well his production company Plan B Films is about to bring a book of Jesse James life to the big screen with Pitt in the lead role. How convenient!

Unfortunately all I can think about at the moment is Young Guns and Tombstone. However, from what I can understand is that the book is actually quite a rich telling of the western life and an evocative take on the story. Coming Soon say:

In the book, Hansen re-creates the real West with his imaginative telling of the life of the most famous outlaw of them all, Jesse James, and of his death at the hands of the upstart Robert Ford.

James, a charismatic, superstitious, and moody man, holds sway over a ragged gang who fear his temper and quick shooting. Robert Ford, a young gang member torn between worshipping Jesse and taking his place, guns him down in cold blood and lives out his days tormented by the killing.

What could be interesting is that Andrew Dominik is directing, he of Chopper fame. He won much accolade from that movie but then that was back in 2000, and the only activity since is this years The Demolished Man.

  1. Can’t wait to see it! I loved his role in Mr. and Mrs. Smith!

Jessica B. (my cousin) is auditioning for a role in Jesse James, and recieved a phone call saying they want her on the set! Good job Jessica!

  2. THE VERY FIRST THING I EVER SAW BRAD PITT IN WAS “TROY,” AND I LOVED IT. I WENT BACK TO THE THEATRE 20 TIMES TO SEE IT. LOVED HOMER AS A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT AND COULDN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT THEY DID WITH HIS STORY. YES, IT WAS DIFFERENT, BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS WELL DONE. BRAD PITT BROUGHT SO MUCH MORE TO THE CHARACTER OF ACHILLES AND ERIC BANA WAS WONDERFUL AS HECTOR. IT’S JUST A SHAME THEY WERE ENEMIES. TOGETHER, THEY COULD HAVE BEEN A FORMIDABLE TEAM. BUT I DIGRESS. HE WAS WONDERFUL IN THAT ROLE. EVEN IF PEOPLE DIDN’T LIKE THE MOVIE BECAUSE IT WAS ABOUT WAR, THEY HAVE TO ADMIT HE DID A WONDERFUL JOB IN THAT ROLE. BUT IF WE ALL LIKED THE SAME THINGS, IT WOULD BE A VERY BORING WORLD.

  3. Hiya Rich. Thanks for thinking of us ladies *swoons* but come on, surely not Brad Pitt? There’s more good-looking and talented actors out there that need exposure in The Movie Blog.

Anywho, I am not a Brad Pitt fan, but him doing a Western? Well, a designer Western at least, might be a good idea. I loved Young Guns and Tombstone. Give it a good soundtrack then youre on!
