The Fog remake lands some cast

TheFog.jpgThe casting has begun on The Fog remake, and although it’s been around for a few days, I haven’t, so I thought it only right.

Cinema Confidential brings us the news that it’s an all TV star casting so far:

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Tom Welling (TV’s “Smallville”) and Maggie Grace (TV’s “Lost”) will star in a remake of John Carpenter’s “The Fog.” Rupert Wainwright will direct the feature, with Cooper Layne updating the 1980 screenplay.

I don’t see much wrong with that, I think they could both be competent actors given the chance, and I think that Welling really has to go something to break the type casting tie in he could be facing for his years on Smallville.

Excuse me for going nostalgic here, but the original movie was excellent and very moody, I hope they can recreate that and not just throw money and special effects at it.

  1. ..but will it have the ” John Carpenter Score√Ǭ©”? I’ve been obsessing over his music for the last week since watching the original Assault on Precinct 13 (awesome). It probably won’t, but the original Fog theme is so cool and memorable.

Some people think his music style ‘hokey’, but if you watch Ghosts of Mars again I guarantee the music is the best part of it!
