They havent started filming yet, but when they do it will be filmed in the South Island, the same place as 10,000 BC and 2 other movies. It was also one of the locations for Lord of the Rings..

Apparently being filmed right now in Wellington, home of Peter jackson’s soundstages and WETA. talked to a guy who reckoned he saw some cameras in an abandoned parking lot and a machine blowing bubbles and stuff on the ground that looked like snow. No idea if that’s true though. he’s usually full of Crap.

What was a little bit more unique about the comic is that the hero is a Native American, which is rare in any story that doesn’t include horrible stereotypes. I spoke with my friend about the film adaptation and we both agreed that the producers would probably cast a caucasian dude instead.

The book has a great premise, and looks wonderful. The story it self isnt perfect but holds up. If they can get some of the book’s style in the film, it will be awesome.

The comic is VERY COOL. Sam Raimi was originally going to direct but he’s not now. I heard on the radio today (Mark Kermode, very respected UK critic dude) that this movie is going to be directed by the British fella who’s just done Hard Candy (torture movie that’s getting rave reviews everywhere). I like Josh Hartnett, he’s very cool given the right material (Sin City, Faculty). This movie’s gonna rock!
