Quick In-House Updates
Hey there guys, John here with a couple of quick in-house items to quickly mention:
1) The Audio Edition Mail Bag is tonight, make sure to send in your questions or comments to me by this evening.
2) The redesign is up and everything looks great. However, I’ve been getting some messages from people saying they can’t load The Movie Blog pages in their browsers anymore. YIKES! If you are having ANY problems with the redesign, please email me and let me know about it. That’s how we can improve things.
3) I’m traveling right now, so this coming Monday will be the first Audio Edition done by Skype with all four of us. Should be interesting.
4) Blah, due to recent drama, my little documentary isn’t going to be out by the end o October as originally planned. However, hoping to have it all ready by the end of November now. For those of you who haven’t seen it (and the even smaller number of you who actually care) you can see the rough little trailer for my docuentary called “The Prince of Peace – The God of War” over here.
5) August was the biggest traffic month in The Movie Blog’s history. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH for your continued support guys! It feels like I’m saying that every few weeks… but I mean it.
Ok, that just about does it!

John, how much are you selling DVD copies of The Prince of Peace – The God of War?
Hey Wolf,
Right now I’m not 100% sure what I’m going to do with the movie once it’s done. My priority is the movie itself right now. Once it’s done I’ll decide. My options right now are:
1) Take it to some festivals and see if any distributors wants to pick it up for some unknown reason.
2) Sell the movie on DVD. If I do this it’ll problably end up being about $8 – $12
3) Just release the darn thing on the internet for free. I was thinking about doing this and just accepting donations… but after our Commentary for Taiders of the Lost Ark only got 24 donations out of over 5000 downloads… I’m not sure about this option anymore… but I’m still considering it.
But like I said, my focus right now is on the movie itself and not what I’ll do with it once it’s done… so we’ll see. Sory for sunch a long winded answer.

You stay classy, John Campea

Well, I would be alot more willing to make a donation if you released a movie.
Not to take anything away from the commentary, but a movie is abit more work, and not many movies are distributed free like this, but there’s tons of commentaries out there.
I’d donate if you put the movie up for free. That would be a wonderful gesture on your part, and I would applaud that.
It would probably also ensure you the biggest audience.
As for the traffic, you’re welcome.
I think it’d be cool for you to put it on DVD. I myself, would pay 8-12 dollars for it. But whatever you decide, I’m sure will be correct.
Yes, there has been a ‘problem’ with the pages in the last 12 hours or so; I have noticed a big change. I don’t know if anyone has sent you a screenshot or if you are already working out the bug. I’ll send you one anyway. Hopefully this will be fixed shortly.
The pages haven’t really disappeared. They are scrunched up in my browser (Safari) and aside from pix, banners, text boxes and linkage…are in a thin narrow space in the center.
You would have to scroll down to even to see the text.
There’s also the issue that the bandwidth for a 2 hour movie would be WAY more expensive than the bandwidth for a 2 hour audio commentary.
I’m not sure donations would be able to cover it unless people were way better at donating. (Or you found a different way to distribute it)
If you sell it on DVD I would buy it and so will a lot of other people. I think you should stay away from opinion 3 as you would make more of a profit selling it. I also think it would be rather intresting if you sent it into some festivals, you never know.
