First Look at the Ghost Rider Poster
The guys at Cinema Blend sifted through the MoviePhone post about the new GhostRider poster being released.
Its not that I dont like Nicholas Cage, or think Eva Mendez is pretty enough, but really, do they need their hovering faces on either side of the caption text that reads “Long ago he made a deal to save someone he loved” So the poster on the LEFT is the real poster. The one on the RIGHT is my quick Photoshopped edit that, in my opinion makes a much better poster.

I am still conflicted as to how I feel about this movie. It guarantees to bring some REALLY good visuals, but I just am not into the character. I have never been a fan of the Ghost Rider books, and quite frankly I find the character and his story to be quite boring and flat.
Maybe the movie will prove to be more than just a pretty cgi-fest.
You can go to the original MoviePhone post to see a bigger version of the poster.

I prefer your version, too, but it seems like there was a memo sent to the marketing departments of every film studio about ten or fifteen years ago that said: ‘Interesting poster designs, out! Great big faces, in!’
It’s a relatively minor comic character, so I suppose they’re not taking any chances. If you don’t know who Ghost Rider is, maybe you’ll go to see Nicolas Cage and some hot bird.
I’m really looking forward to this movie. Maybe it’s partially because I was so terribly let down by super-hero movies this summer.
Your edited poster kicks ass. That’s something that seems like a no-brainer but so much marketing can’t stay away from the fucking HUGE faces.
But this was the summer of Superman Returns, Ted Kord Lives! Superman would never let you down. Superman loves you. Just like Jesus.
“…Nicholas Cage, or think Eva Mendez…”
You misspelled both names.
IMDB lists each as sometimes credited as:
Nicholas Cage / Nicolas Coppola
Eva Mendez
So despite my careless typo, I can still save some face!
When I saw this over at moviephone the first thing I thought was how silly the huge faces looked on this poster.
It looks 100% better without them. Good freakin’ job Rodney.
I think the movie will appeal to me more than the comic ever did so I’m really excited to see it.
You know what my problem is with the ghost rider movies isn’t just the posters its Nicholas Cage. I saw the trailer and at no point did I ever once think he was biker or as young as they are trying to portry him. Having had a friend who was into motorcycles at no point does Cage seem anything close to one. Also this movie will bug because this phase in Cages career where he is trying to cover up how middle age he really and playing roles that should really be going to the next genreation of actors out there. This poster is no help either. It just reminds me of everything i just wrote. Yes Ghost Rider is one of lesser known Marvel characters so of course they’re going to put a big name for the role. If ruled the world however I would have put an unknown or a rising young star in the role. Someone you believe is a biker not a guy who put leather jacket on yesterday. At least that just me…
I still think this looks bad. Every time I see the trailer I cringe. Can you say bomb?
Frankwolftown, I really do not understand how you figure someone “looks like a biker” … I mean he is wearing the same clothes, and there is a bike between his legs. Granted the stunts are a stuntman, but that guy has the same physique as Cage, so I dont get how he doesnt “look like a biker”. Did you do know that Cage collects bikes and is an avid rider?
Tony Hawk doesnt look much like a skater kid either, but you know what? He is pretty damned good at it!
The parts when he is in the Ghost Rider form, its all CGI so you cant blame that on him either.
I am really confused about this statement.
i also prefer the version on the right. Les cage, less mendez MORE Ghostrider
I like the photoshopped one better, but now I miss Eva Mendez face :(
Hey Rodney,
Can you send me a bigger version of your retouched version of the poster?
That is my retouched version. I didnt make a bigger one as I was just creating it for the purpose of this post.
Sorry.
S’okay
the poster didnt do it justice as far as the words go but the flick was off the hook. I really hope the make a big blown up poster of the desert scene towards the end with new and old ghost side by side before they fried the gecko .I guess the gecko also signed on the dotted line.
