This is one of those Good news/Bad news senarios. Bad news: Warner brothers has announced that they are making a Dukes of Hazzard 2. Now, I’ll give you a second to pull yourselves up off the floor and to slow your rage induced heart palpatations. Here’s the good news… it’s direct to video. The good folks over at imdb (via Darren) give us this:
“Warner Bros. is planning to release 10-15 low-budget movies a year directly to DVD, most of them sequels or prequels to theatrical movies, the Los Angeles Times reported today (Tuesday). The studio’s first release will be a sequel to 2005’s The Dukes of Hazzard, which will be produced for about $5 million or less and will not include the original cast members of the movie. The studio is expected to focus on producing sequels to films that performed relatively well at the box office but not well enough to warrant a theatrical sequel.”
Ok, so two bits of good news. 1) There is no Johnny Knoxville or Jessica “I can’t act to save my life” Simpson. And 2) Being direct to video, it pretty much ensures that we’ll never have to see another Dukes of Hazzard on the big screen in our lifetimes. YAY!!!!
For those of you who are saddened by this news because you loved the first Dukes of Hazzard and really wanted a legit sequel… I’ll send you the phone numbers of some good therapists.
Dukes of hazard was a great movie. You must be high or maybe you just need to get high girst.

yea the movie sucked the only good actor in the movie is the car. as for jessica she sucks it all around.

much success it probably not easy creating a movie, but it’s always good following after the orginals and not chaning what people came to love in the first place.
they should have the same cast from the other dukes of hazzard movie or from the old tv series accept some of those guys are dead. i used to love the dukes of hazzard and still like the one with seann william scott and johnny knoxville but now they are getting cheesy with all of these different actors. Fucking keep them original in one way or another.
They should re-sign Jessica, and get her naked. That’s the only thing that’ll save this waste of money.

OMG ANOTHER POINTLESS SEQUEL!!!! Instead if wasting money on this direct to DVD movie, give it to people who need it, like Ben Stiller and Jim who need it for their movie. I mean doesn’t sound like anyone from the last movie will be in this so whats the point? If anything they should use the old actors for this movie. COME ON John Schneider is the man.
