Just saw the movie!!!!

My local radio am drive jocks hyped the movie so much! They even spoke with Gerald Butler (King) and David Wenham (Dilios) on their show this week. Then I saw Rodrigo Santoro on Good Morning America this week. After that, I just had to see it.

This type of film is not my usual, but was very curious. And I must say...It was compelling and excellent. I came home to research all I could on this epic battle.

And it is a great feat as I was one of only a handful of females in the theater. BTW, I was impressed with portrayal the only female character. She was by no means a victim even though she was violated.

Excellent film and I hopw that HOLLYWOOD recognizes this.

Saw 300 last night and I think it lived up to the hype. The action and cinematics were 1st rate. The heroic speeches were in the style you would expect from a broadway drama (which I also happen to like). While I am a history buff and there is several misconceptions in the movie, I do think they caught the spirit of this great battle - from the action that must of taken place, to the morale of the Spartans and to the martial prowness that took place in the battle.

For those who enjoyed the battle sequences in Troy - this movie has got it beat and really rose the bar for this type of film. I will probably see it again while it is in theaters and plan on buying the DVD once it comes out.

In another note on this film, the soundtrack was perfect. Music in the theater is supposed to move you emotionally in the direction that the movie is going, the soundtrack here does that. If, 300 wins any awards at upcoming shows, I expect best soundtrack to be amongst them.

Anyway, the hype is honest. Yes, there is a couple cheesy theaterical moments in the movie, but I don't say this to be critical. It adds to the flavor of the movie and takes what was one of the best military battles in history and puts you in front row center. I put it this way, Troy bumped Gladiator out of my personal top 10, 300 here just bumped Troy.

Besides the fact that Herodotus wrote about the events at Thermopylae long before "white supremacist Germans" existed, not to mention before Germans period truly existed as a people. Explain to me how these events are a conspiracy theory? Or perhaps you also believe that Alexander never conquered Persia either. You're retarded.

Oh, I almost forgot. Let us not forget the Ionian Revolt which led to the battle of Marathon in 490 B.C. But, I guess that's just another conspiracy theory.

Oh, by the way realhistory, apparently you fall into the category of historical dimwit. Mainly, because if you bother to pick up any book or documentary concerning Spartans or great battles that changed the world, you will note that everyone of them mention this battle. Also, the Greeks defeated the Persian Navy at the battle of Salamis and the remaining infantry at the battle of Plataea. While it is true that they were homosexuals (They felt men were much more likely to die alongside there lovers, there is no proof whatsoever that they were pedophiles. This is not German white supremacy propaganda. These events are historical fact. While certainly embellished (in truth, estimates have it at 300 Spartans, and around 8000 other Greeks, against a Persian army numbering at about 250,000), This is not some conspiracy. Maybe you should read up on history yourself, jackass.

Just saw it!!! If you can, see this in theaters. I saw it on an IMAX screen and it blew me away. One word: Awesome. I will most certainly be reserving a spot on my shelf for it. Initially, I was trepidatious as I am a huge lover of history, and was hoping that they wouldn't make it too over the top. However, using the history as a framework, and THEN taking it over the top works almost magically. I too was so hopeful that I was afraid my expectations were too high. To say that this movie lived up to them would be a gigantic understatement. In short, SEE THIS MOVIE.

Let's make one thing clear. The movie looks awesome. The visuals are amazing. But let's make another thing clear. This is a pretty good attempt by Frank Miller to convince historically challenged dim wits into thinking that this was actual history. Nothing could be farther from the truth. There is absolutely no concrete evidence that any of this or any other Greek victory over Persians ever happened. Most of it was cooked up by white supramist Germans in the early 1900's. Actually Spartans were a barbarian race and ardent homosexuals and Pedophiles to boot. That's right Pedophiles. What do you think they did to the seven year old boys they took to boot camp? Teach them only to fight? Yeah right. No surprises why they cared about each other so much. So after watching the movie I wouldn't walk around calling my self a Spartan.
