The title says it all. Who do you think should host the Oscars next year? After voting, suggest anyone else you think might be good in the comments section below.
Howie Mandel might be someone worth considering as well.
Fuck the game-show he hosts, his stand-up stuff is pretty hilarious at times (except for that annoying kid-voice ‘Bobby’, that got old really fast) and he also has a shitload of experience working crowds.
The more I think about it, the more I think he’d be great for the Oscars.
I voted for Sienfield, because he sparked up some attention in his presentation. The only mild disadvantage is Jerry isn’t a film actor, a point he made. Steve Martin has hosted before, and didn’t do a bad job. Jon Stewart was GOLD last year. The only thing was that he lets both the far right *and* the far left have it- that may have gotten some of the Hollywood left uneasy.
I would also like to see Robin Williams give a go one day; or a double host of Jack Black & Will Farrell.
I’m all for the movie blog on the oscars, the thing is Doug would be arrested in the first 5 minutes, we know that. And Ziyi Zhang would be seriously harassed. So, regrettably the safest good choice would be Jack Black and Robin Willians.
Bill Murray would INDEED be a great choice. Its a shame he hasn’t been in that many memorable roles in the past decade, he is truly a funny dude. (I think Rushmore was his last truly funny film. Lost in Translation was OK, something different for him, but WAY overrated in my opinion.) But who could forget him in: Groundhog Day, What about Bob?, Kingpin, Quick Change, Ghostbusters, Classic SNL, and of course Caddyshack.
Sacha Baron Cohen i think could be very funny too. Not that you necessarily need to have a “comedic” actor as host, but they would probably be able to keep the audiences interest better than say… Peter O’Toole, James Earl Jones, or Clint Eastwood. (All great personalities, but are they really who you want to listen to for 4 hours?)
Steve Carrell, Jim Carey, and Will Farrell also come to mind. As long as none of them make it too “slapsticky”.
I voted Steve Carrell. He would do such an awsome job and funny threw all his bits. LOL, seeing Sarah Silverman on they’re just made me laugh. I mean I like her an all, it’s just she would only end up scarring everyone one with her hummor. Guessing her name being on they’re was just a joke.
And Cloney would just bore me to death. I hardly like even seeing him in movies.
Other people I think would be good is Will Ferrell, Bill Murry, Robin Williams, Jim Carry, Jack Black, and Conan O’Brian 9I know he’s not a movie star, but damn he’s funny). :)

I thought John Stewart was pretty good last year
Before Doug can post it, I have to…Mel “Mad Max” Gibson!
I never thought of Howie Mandel, but he would be great.

colbert bitches! steve carrell would be GOLD
peace…
Jon Stewart. No brainer.
Bill Murray would be awesome.
Jon Stewart would definitely be first choice for me. Steve Carell would be genius. And then there’s always Chris Tuck…woops.
George Bush as a surprise host who is only revealed right when the Oscars begin.
gio would you be o.k. with seinfeld hosting?
he is from t.v. after all

I’d pay cash to see Mel Gibson get up on stage at the Oscars and scream at every Jewish person in the crowd.
I second Steven Colbert!

Billy Crystal was ultimate
Forget Steve Corell…
I’d love to see Oscars hosted by a coked-up and pissed-off Michael Richards.
I think Chris Tucker would be an awesome host!
Conan O’Brian !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
