That is not funny just sick.

  2. Calviin says:

    OH NOES!

I saw this clip already, and I will not watch that again. I can understand why you would put it here since it is movie related, but EUGH!

    -Calviin

  3. Jay says:

    wow…

    just… wow…

That may be the most tasteless and despicable thing I have ever seen…

    congratulations Mr Boll,
    You have outdone yourself.

    What a scumbag.

  4. Eric says:

Is this another Game rip off from the same title years ago? I realize it’s supposed to be a comedy, but the guy can’t seem to get away from game to film genre and nothing he does has any quality at all. Boll sucks the art and soul out of anything he touches.

Aside from that, there is another movie John has mentioned here before that will be a comedy that is all about 9/11 and people who were “put out” because of the events of that day. I still say it’s a bit too early to be making jokes about it, but I guess some feel it’s already time to move on.

Either way, it’s one thing I think for our own American comedians to make jokes, but when a foreigner attempts to make a film and make fun, it’s not going to go over very well. I’m not saying it’s right either way, just the timing and our ability to laugh at ourselves is what will come into play.

  5. loser says:

This is a little strange…. no one seems to have a problem with Doug occasionally proclaiming his wish to rape/kill/torture/dissect certain people yet there seems to be a general consensus now that this film is going to be morally…um… questionable….

  6. John Campea says:

    Hey Loser,

I don’t know what to tell you. If you can’t see the difference between the 2, then I don’t know how to explain it to you. To each their own I guess.

  7. Kristina says:

Yeah John, when I saw that shit online, I knew I had to send it to you ASAP. That shit is beyond anything I’ve ever seen. Now, I can understand a movie like United 93 that is a straightforward account of the events of that day. I can’t watch that movie, but I understand doing a documentary of the events as a feature film. That shit in that clip is reprehensible.

  8. Matt Holmes says:

    Hideous.

Uwe Boll is a despicable human being.

His inability to make a watc hable movie, means he has to resort to these types of tactics to get some sort of publicity.

  9. Donald says:

OH MY GOD! To make it worse, check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zatmGHRURlA

hey eric, whats this about americans being allowed but not others? we’ve had some nasty hits on other countries and we weren’t even trying to be funny (hostel is a good example). i suppose its ok, no one knows where estonia is anyway right? (rolls eyes)

  10. Kevin says:

As far as the “is it too soon?” argument goes, I think this event will never be funny. It’s one of those things that, as hard as you may try, (and by the looks of this, it’s not very hard), will just never make anyone laugh.

  11. jimf says:

totally tasteless…wouldnt even watch it for free!

  12. loser says:

    Hey John,

I don’t know how many people have actually become the victims of rape or murder since 9/11 (A LOT more than 3000 I suppose…) YET Doug makes fun about it and IT’S OK, because we are not laughing at THEM but we are laughing at whatever Doug spoofs by his (obviously ludicrous) exaggerations.

But humour is also a way of getting at least partially emotionally dissociated from something. For example: when a close friend has died it will probably take some time until you can laugh about funny things he used to do or say again. Which is not a bad thing I think, as long as you keep respectful to the dead person.

NOW: Do we even know the movie Postal? No we don’t.
Do we even know that this movie will offend the victims of 9/11? No we don’t.

All we know is a 28 seconds clip – which is of course very very cynical towards all those people whose lives were in one way or the other destroyed on 9/11 – but: Isn’t Doug cynical towards the victims of rape or murder too?

And isn’t a certain form of cynism just necessary to survive in this world?

Uwe Boll is not a good director… but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is also a bad person.

Apart of that the film will probably suck.

  13. Russ says:

Alright, ive never played postal but i have read about it and the goal of both postal games and the upcoming postal 2 was to insult be discusting and offensive.

So did uwe boll finally accomplish something he set out to do…..yes because many of people would be offended by that……iam personally not really, because if you think about it isnt that just the same as that old photoshoped picture labled as “taken on world trade centre observation deck” where you saw the plan coming in the back ground. Its exactly the same i even saw the above labled as “Your Fucked” once. ITs exactly like when family guy made the hiroshima joke where the guy was having a “bad day” and you thought the bomb was falling and it was a monkey falling on him.So is there really a line people?

For example *i guess semi spoiler* how many laughed in grindhouse when the child shot his face after she told him not too, i know i did it was funny, especially when she blamed it on the father. IT was clearly played off as a joke because others in my theatre were laughing and i didnt see any walk outs. So yes Uwe Boll is a peice of shit who deserves to be killed for his crimes against humanity, but not for this, he deserves it for a little something called: Alone in the dark & bloodrayne

Oh well thats my opinion i know others will disagree but hey if the movie makes it to dvd clean flicks can always edited that scene out if so many are offended

  14. shane razey says:

    simply:

    I hate Uwe Boll.

  15. John Campea says:

    Hey Loser,

By that definition, no comedians could ever make fun of plane crashes in general, or car accident, or illness, or anything leading to death at all. No jokes about hot coffee because someone once died from it.

I think we need to be able to laugh at just about everything… but SPECIFIC PERSONAL events may be different. No one wants to laugh at a specific joke about an actual person who died in a specific car crash… but joking about car crashing is common place in general.

  16. Jonathan says:

I refuse to give this any sort of talk on CF, because the man just doesn’t deserve the publicity. He’s a hack. He’s doing this for controversy, because he’s hoping controversy = ticket sales (something he’s not familiar with).

  17. loser says:

    Hey John,

I never looked at it like this. Also I am to lazy to make anything up now I ‘ll probably leave it at that and admit you’re… kind of… right.

Oh, wait: personally I think we should be able to laugh about EVERYTHING without exception, ESPECIALLY about ourselves and things that make us sad, because really… grief isn’t half as much fun as humour.

  18. John Campea says:

    Hey Loser,

    You said:

“personally I think we should be able to laugh about EVERYTHING without exception, ESPECIALLY about ourselves and things that make us sad”

I don’t disagree with you… but there are a LOT of people who don’t see things that way… and the only point of my post was really… holy crap… someone is going to straight up kill this guy if he comes over here.

  19. CJ says:

Somehow, I’m not surprised. Uwe Boll has to pull tasteless shit like this get people to talk about his movies.

  20. wolf says:

I laughed at this clip. I mean when is a joke too far? Some sort of joke offends everyone at the end of the day. If someone is saying ”Oh all the poor people died that day, how dare Boll use it in his film”, well didn’t futurama make fun of the Titantic in one episode? Different date, but people died.

  21. loser says:

    2007-1912: 95 years
    2007-2001: 6 years

    That’s the difference I suppose.

  22. Kristina says:

Not to mention the Titanic was an ACCIDENT.
9/11 was a DELIBERATE ATTACK on innocent people.

  23. Senor Chefy says:

The whole film is based on being offensive and tasteless. Doesn’t make it any more pallatable, just puts it in context.

  24. JeffGrey says:

yeah, whatever. this clip doesn’t offend me as an american, and I don’t really think anyone else should let themselves get offended by it either. If something as predictable and lame as that clip can get under your skin, it just marks you as an easy target.

I watched this clip and yawned.

  25. Gruff says:

You think he’d use his usual black metal as the backup track when it crashes. Country music does not work outside the country, believe me I tried, and I had my eye taken out (joking, no offense to people who have had their eye taken out.)

What a stupid stupid stupid stupid man.

  26. Joe says:

Eddie Murphy made fun of people dying with aids, Kinneson joked about Jesus crucifixion and MLK’s assassination. Of course this is tasteless and inappropriate. A lot of humor is. The question is, will it offend more people than it will humor? I think it will not make many laugh, but not because of the material. Execution (pun) is everything in comedy. Boll does not have the ability to pull off jokes about (9/11). Others probably do.

  27. Vince says:

That’s pretty damn f’ed up right there. Postal doesn’t even have stuff like that going on in the game.

  28. Kaneda979 says:

I wish they’re was a way to stop this guy from ever making movies or anything artistic for that matter EVER again.

  29. Kaneda979 says:

    there*

  30. alfie says:

I am pretty hard to shock….you would have to retch pretty low to offend me….I am not trying to sound cool and jaded i just mean me and my friends like many other people try to say the worst stuff to each other to try and shock each other and we go to dark places to say the most inappropriate things to one another..I admit we have made aids jokes..racist jokes…sexist jokes…..we have made 9/11 jokes..princess diana jokes…all to really try to shock each other…they do not reflect out real views……well o.k. i draw the line at child rape jokes that would be my limit…all i am saying is i am not easily shocked…..and this clip doesn;t shock me or offend me…..

my problem with this clip is that it just isn’t funny. its just desperate.
it isn’t actually humourous. there is nothing clever there or witty or sharp…..it is so obvious in its desperation to shock that it just comes across as lame, phoney and forced. it is a lazy attempt to drum up some kind of bullshit controversy to have his film talked about…when what he should do is try to make a good film and have that be the focus instead of having to rely on something as stupid as this. we already know the guy is a fucking idiot from his stupid boxing gimmick last year and now this…WILL THE GERMAN GOVERNMENT PLEASE FIX THIS TAX LOOPHOLE THAT ALLOWS THIS GUY TOMAKE FILMS. he is awful

  31. Pak says:

The worst part is that some opportunistic blowhard is going to see this and run with it. This will draw more attention to something as pointless as this movie. They’ll use the actual people affected by 9/11 to get their agenda pushed to get into the media. Using victims like that is way more offensive than that clip could ever be.

We are seeing the same thing happening right now with the whole Al Sharpton/Don Imus thing happening right now. People are pileing up just to take advantage of a spotlight, over a 2 second little joke that anyone of us could have said.

Its a freedom of speech thing and just because its offensive doesn’t give him the right not to say it. Especially in humor we can say some horrific things to get a point accross. Dave Chappelle does pretty racial comedy that offends people but we should not take away his right to say it.

  32. Scott says:

I agree with Wolf,I loved it! Uwe Bowl pulled off something decents, even though it lasted for 15 seconds. Everyone needs to loosen up.
I also agree with Loser in that we should be able to laugh at everything. Other wise Al Sharpton and the terrorist have won !

  33. Scott says:

Also I don’t love it for the fact people died. I like it for the fact that it pokes fun at something, people take a bit to seriously at times.
Worse things have happened than this and they are poked at. This should be no different.

  34. Josh says:

So we should be able to laugh at a plane hitting the worl trade center? C’mon! That is just sick if someone finds that funny!

  35. alfie says:

what is clever about it scott?? how is it funny??
    I just don’t get the joke…it is fucking lame…

it isn’t funny and again not because it is offensive…I am in no way offended by it i just think it is desperate and lame. it so desperately wants to stir up controversy because he knows his films and his talents have nothing to offer. he make horrendously awful films an dnow he is trying to use this to sell his crap.

If you want to make jokes about 9/11 go ahead ….to each their own but at least try to make them clever or witty…

in fact john we are playing right into his hands by talking about it…he and his films are not even worthy of discussion and you should just pull the story. why give him the attention he is so desperate for…..

the guy is a loser who through some stupid tax loophole has managed to make some of the worst films ever made.

and then he can’t take the criticism so he offers to fight people….like that proves the critics wrong and all of a sudden he is a good film maker…maybe he should have used the money and had some fucking film lessons……..he is absolutely awful.
A true challenge ….one that would have been great and had something to do with film is he should have given a critic the same budget as he had and they should have both had to have made a film and then we would judge whose was better …the critic or the “director” but what does he do….he fights people and beats them up….if he was a boxer and this was a bunch of gusy claiming he couldn’t fight for shit and he made the offer to fight them then it wouldmake some kind of barbaric sense but it was ridiculous and the sooner he is finished in the film business the better

  36. P.O.'d DarkKinger says:

    WHAT…THE…FUCK~?!?!?~!??!?~??!?~?!??!?~??!?!~!

  37. The 1mperfex Collector says:

I don’t care what anybody says, this is retarded. Hell, Spielberg caught hell from critics making 1941, and at least it was a dumb comedy! Seems odd how it took 30 years apart from WWII while we had almost 6 years. Can’t laugh at 9/11. Can laugh at the Terminator smiling.

  38. RickDaStick says:

I just love how the kid from “A christmas story” is going to be the main character…doesn’t that show how shitty this movie is going to be?

  39. sal says:

lol, it’s tasteless but so are many things these days, still made me laugh tho and if that makes me sick then I’m fine with that.

  40. Alfredo says:

There is nothing funny about what I just saw. It’s not witty or clever. For me something that’s really is funny should 1. make me laugh and 2. make me feel better for having seen/heard it. Real humor makes me feel better. If I’m in a shitty mood and I hear something funny my mood will turn faster then Uwe Boll’s last two fans will turn on him when they see this clip.
    Zing!

  41. naught says:

    Wow.

Uhm, the trailer was kinda stupid funny, but this one is just.. How is this one funny? Are we missing something here or Uwe is? Man it’s so disapointing, and I love Postal so so much.

  42. Eric says:

@ Donald: hey eric, whats this about americans being allowed but not others? we’ve had some nasty hits on other countries and we weren’t even trying to be funny (hostel is a good example). i suppose its ok, no one knows where estonia is anyway right? (rolls eyes)

Didn’t say “I” agree with anyone being allowed. Just pointing out that to some, jokes might come easier from people like our own Doug at The Movie Blog before someone like Uwe Boll who wasn’t here to witness the tragedy take pot shots in attempts at humor.

I realize America hasn’t been the only victim of attacks, but none of it really matters. Death is death and it shouldn’t be a joking matter anywhere. 95 years or 6 years, it’s still loss of life and I think we take things too far sometimes to the point it desensitizes us from what’s going on around us.

  43. Joseph Ferrarelli says:

Any way you look at it, it’s tough to swallow.
    But think this…

If it’s not alright to make 9/11 jokes…
Is it still alright to make Holocaust jokes?

  44. amy says:

I just read through the comments, and I have to admit that I am kind of
    surprised of your reaction!

Has anyone here seen the whole film and NOT ONLY the trailers? Well, I have!
A few weeks ago I saw Uwe Boll¹s new film, Postal, at the Cannes festivals.
I have to say that this film will offend a lot of people. Let¹s start
listing: Nazis, terrorists, overweight Americans, bad asian female drivers,
hippies, drug addicts, homeless, handicapped, lazy and ignorant police
officers, naïve people who simply believe everything they are told,
    Christians, Jews, Muslims, gays, etc.

  45. jackschwarzenegger says:

Hey guys! What you wrote about Boll¹s new movie sounded pretty interesting.
I¹m just wondering why so many people hate his film. Sounds like they are
interested just because it is such a big issue for them.

  46. lukeskywalker says:

I agree with Scott! This film isn?t meant to be taken personally. Postal is a
comedy! Some people just don?t have the taste and acceptance for this type of
    humour, and that is understandable.
