Comic Con Update – Frost and Wright Talk Hot Fuzz DVD

Hot-Fuzz-DvdIt’s always refreshing when you get to sit in on a session with a couple of guys who just talk like they do when they’re in the bar instead of putting on their best “interview face”. I had the chance this afternoon to sit in with Nick Frost and Edgar Wright to talk about the upcoming DVD release of their film “Hot Fuzz”.

A couple of interesting things came out in this interview:

1) Edgar Wright actually used to work in that exact same supermarket in Hot Fuzz

2) Getting “edited for family friendly” versions together (very funny)

3) The upcoming Grindhouse DVDs will NOT… I repeat NOT have the fake trailers on them (more on that in another post)

It was a great, casual (by invitation only) session. Instead of me trying to explain it, I thought I’d just let you watch it. here it is:

Wow campea. Um, you look pretty hot in that picture on the front. Nice.

Oooh, “by invitation only”! Campea’s all ELITE now!

I wish Nick Frost talked a little more. His work in Spaced, Danger! 50,000 Volts, and Hyperspace is some of the best I have seen. I cant wait to see what else he does.

  4. I wonder if they will show up on the Marvel panel…or is Edgar Wright not on “Ant-Man” anymore?

  5. Dan says:

Thanks for posting this, John. This is the kind of stuff I like to see from Comic Con, instead of summary descriptions of what occured.

I’ve got the DVD – it’s an impressive package.

There’s a short film Edgar Wright made when he was younger as a special feature which is pretty entertaining and the commentaries are great.

  7. Phil Gee says:

The DVD is worth it for the commentary by the actors who play the villagers. Hearing Paul (Belloq) Freeman and Timothy Dalton laugh their arses off when the journalist gets killed is priceless.
