This movie is bollocks! I refuse to see it for two reasons. First of all the books do not even lend themselves to film. The only book she's written that would make a good movie is The Undomestic Goddess. Second, a good portion of the comedy of the books is British. All of the British expressions such as bloody this and bloody that, and "er...right" are important to the character and style of the story. I can't believe Wickham sold the rights without insisting on London as the setting and having a British cast. It's like trying to make an American version of Monty Python. As an American and fan of the books this is bloody humiliating!

I love her books and I always wanted them to make a movie out of these books, and what do you know! They are making one now! I have read 'Shopoholic Ties the Knot' and I am currently finishing 'Shopoholic & Baby'. They are fabulous books and I hope the series continues!

I personally cannot wait for the Shopaholic movie to come out! I love the books and always find myself awaiting the next book (shopaholic or not) that Sophie Kinsella writes. I am a shopaholic myself, but I have to admit that I am not as bad a Becky is! All the same, her adventures are hilarious and I find myself taking her side whenever she encounters a crisis, money-wise or not. She seems like a real sweetie and someone I would like to have as a friend. I can only hope that the movie is as good as the books are..

I am currently reading the Shopaholic series, reading the last one "Shopaholic & Baby." I was just thinking to myself how perfect it would be if someone would make a movie out of the books. I believe the characters and the story are both perfect for the big screen. I for one cannot wait until the movie debuts. I love the books and hope that the movie will do Sophie Kinsella's work justice.

I love chick lit books but hate the movies. They don't translate well and I honestly don't know why. They're perfect for the screen. It's bad movie writers I guess. I read Shopoholic and can't say I'm too excited.

Thanks Sarah! I have been searching for other books to try. I'd be really pumped to see Becky live on the big screen. :)

I have a very odd love hate relationship with that series of books, the character is so neurotic that I can't help myself reading them, but she makes me nervous about my own spending habits!!!

With regards to a movie being made out of them, with that director I think it will be great, and will most likely been in line on opening night!!

Finally tell you friend to start reading her other books. She has a few more under the Kinsella name and also under Madeleine Wickham.
