Would You Watch a Movie About Britney Spears?
Okay, so I know just about everyone has heard or seen the so called “comeback” of Miss Britney Spears last night on MTV’s VMAS. We read the newspapers. We’re awaiting our favorite tabloids to run it as the cover story. We read Perez Hilton’s BRUTAL open letter to her, and we all knew she was going to blow it.
While I was watching the once fit former diva make a total ass out herself by putting on the most EMBARRASSING show ever, (Honestly, walking in on your parents having sex is less humiliating.) I realized the woman has pretty much guaranteed a movie made about her life. (A made for TV one at least) We only see biopics about singers and entertainers who rise and then fall. The fact that she was once the biggest female popstar only a few years ago, and now has become a bigger loser than anyone who has appeared on “The Surreal Life” reality show, is quite fascinating to me.
Do you think there will be a movie about the 25 year old hasbeen in the near future and would you be interested in watching it?

I think in about 10 years time or even more I will guarantee a movie will be made about her.
Not sure if I would be intrested in a movie on her though.
I can see all her f-up’s on the net for free :P
hell no….. i already see and hear about her on tv and news media. if i want to see movie about her i would just listen to the 30sec. of news she does and thats it…. there is no chance in hell she can do a come back…
The only way that I’d see a movie about her is if she dies in the end. I know that sounds horrid, but what’s the point of watching a movie where the lead rises, falls, and then……what? You’ve got to either overcome the fall or die to make the movie compelling.
And it’s vey fucked up that she’s only 25 and she’s washed up. So sad.
I had to go over to the mtv.com site to watch that video. It was like bad karaoke by a drunk fat woman that thinks she’s hot.
A movie about her? I bet there will be one but I’d have no interest in watching it. Well maybe if it was a movie about her upcoming coheadlining tour with Mikey Jackson… or maybe she could marry phil spector and the movie could be called hit me baby one more time.
Please for the love of God!! No more Spears, Hilton, etc frakkin’ posts!
Who frakkin’ cares!
Life is short. Lets use our time more wisely!
Where can i find the open letter to Britney?
I personally think that it’s just plain mean now. It’s no longer confounded criticism. It’s just criticism for the sake of criticism.
http://perezhilton.com/?p=5263 Here’s the link to Perez Hilton’s open letter…yes, I agree it is mean…but man, the girl was asking for it.
She did not look that bad.Yes shes put on a few pounds but i prefer the new Britney look to say someone as skinny as Nicole Richie
Why cant they ever wait until a celebrity is dead to do a movie about them? like they havent done a biopic about marilyn monroe or a lot of other MORE famous people that at least deserve to have their story told. What else do we need to know about britney spears? she’s all over the tabloids. The idea is LAME
« I was watching the once fit former diva »
Now come on… Last time I checked, she had a kid and still was in pretty good shape after all. I don’t get why everybody has to knock on her shape as it looks totally healthy to me.
You want her to be a little more anorexic or what ?
I don’t know about a Britney Spears biopic. I was once all hyped to see if “Trading Paint” would actually get made (NASCAR script written by James V Hart; Brit was supposed to act in it, co-produce it…remember that a few years back? Maybe they should just give it to another lass…I don’t know…like…MAYBE an ACTUAL actress?)
Sides, I’d much rather see a biopic on Tiffany before I’d see a biopic on Spears. Just because.
Just because…..she will get naked in it
I hope I have a wife that looks THAT GOOD after having two kids!
….someday……
Don’t care in the slightest about anything Britney related, …maybe porn but even then…
why do people still give a fuck about this broad….ok a young pretty white girl becomes famous too quick and fucks her life up….our infactuation with young rich white hollywood is getting really, really old….
I’ll only watch if there’s a few sex scenes, involving Britney, Paris, and Lindsay.
it is hilarious that she ius being called fat all over the place. people keep having cracks at her body at the VMAs…she looked fine to me…..so she wasn’t a stick insect or have a six pack
these fucking young girls can’t win with the gossip rags…they are either being called sick looking and anorexic or they are called fat and ugly…..
no wonder these girls have such fucked up body issues…
i know britney does herself no favours but ever since she was a kid she has spent her life being chased by fucking grown men with fucking cameras around their necks hiding in bushes and sticking camera over car doors to try and get beaver shots….who exactly is the loser??
i don’t get how all you have to do to avoid being arrested as a stalker is throw a camera around your neck and then youj can follow these girls anywhere you want.
they are the scum of the earth.
I think I’ll just type a “train wreck” in youtube search.
I completely agree with the concensus that the performance was a joke by a zombie who was not prepared.
But I’m also on board with those upset with people calling her fat now. What the fuck? There’s a difference between out of shape and fat, and yet people use the terms like they are mutually exclusive.
britney who?
That was a very strange performance… it seemed very half-hearted
Yeah, I’m in agreement that Britney’s performance was quite crap-tastic, and she will definitely have a made-for-tv movie about her. I wonder who will play the role of Ms. Spears in this guaranteed success for Lifetime television.
I’m also going to stick up for Britney on the whole “fat” issue. The performance was a horrific train wreck. No doubt about that. But the part about her being fat is just crazy. She looks like what a normal woman should look like. In fact most women spend an hour a day at the gym to look like that.
Calling Britney fat for looking like that is exactly why all the women in Hollywood want to look like an Ethiopian long-distance runner. Personally I’d take “fat” Britney over Paris Hilton or one of those other grasshopper-looking chicks any day.
BIOPIC??? nah, do a Britney Hotep set in a rehab clinic. Britney has swapped with a lookalike who is ruining her career by flashing her fanjita in public at every possible moment whilst the real britney is stuck in rehab fighting of zombies in skimpy outfits. Sounds like a winner to me :-)
Here’s the number 1 “So Freaking Hot” from The Superficial, Gwen Stefani – http://thesuperficial.com/image.php?path=/2007/08/gwen-stefani-bikini-hawaii-candids-12.jpg
Now here’s Britney – http://thesuperficial.com/image.php?path=/2007/09/britney_spears_2007_vmas_06.jpg
Am I the only one who thinks Brit is hotter? I can’t see her ribs sticking out, no pelvis bones sticking out. She looks like a real woman. Call me crazy, but I still think that walking train wreck is hot.
knocking britney for weighing 120 pounds instead of 105 = stupid.
knocking britney for being a no-talent, lip synching piece of white trash = understandable.
Definitely in agreement with most here. Performance = horrible. Media and others making fun of her weight = horribler (I know it’s not a word).
Interestingly, though, I think all the backlash about her weight is actually going to work in her favor. Mark my words – give it a little time, but the sympathy is already starting to develop. The headlines immediately following were all about how fat and out of shape she is. Now conversations like this are starting. People starting feeling bad about/for someone = well, everyone was so hard on her. Let’s give her another chance.
Just my opinion.
@Alfie:
“all you have to do to avoid being arrested as a stalker is throw a camera around your neck and then youj can follow these girls anywhere you want.
they are the scum of the earth.”
Well said.
Perhaps they should wait untill she drops dead, loaded with a variety of illegal drugs before making a bio-flick about her. And then I’d only watch it if her death scene was brutally violent and gorish.
Perez’s letter mean? I don’t think so. The truth hurts.
Time for her, Paris, Lindsay and any other useless celebrity to realize that this isn’t what people want to see.
Its also time for people to stop paying attention to them, for only then will they stop all of this nonsense.
I think it’s complete shit that everyone keeps referencing Spears’ “paunch” or “not being fit”. Who cares- the point is she’s a trainwreck because of her choices and lack of self control, taking pot-shots at her physique (or anyone’s) is vapid bullshit.
Listen, I’m not a big Britney fan, and I’m not trying to defend her, but after a bit of thought and discussion with friends, I’ve come to the conclusion that MTV basically set her up. Think about it. They knew from her rehearsals that she was gonna suck. I saw the video of her rehearsing on TMZ the Friday before the award show, and she looked sluggish there. She wasn’t dancing at full-speed. Now, I simply assumed that maybe she was taking it easy so that she wouldn’t hurt herself or something before the show, but the people who were there KNEW what was going on. They KNEW that she was out of it and out of shape, but they put her on that damn stage anyway. They didn’t care if she was alright, all they cared about was jacking up their ratings. Remember when the rumors were first starting that she was gonna perform as the opening act, and MTV denied it? As soon as they saw the interest and buzz begin to build, they decided to cash in and promote the VMAs as the Britney Show to boost their ratings. Lord knows, they needed to do something, since the VMAs have declined in quality and popularity for the past few years. Last year’s show was so fucking painful that I had to just turn it off. MTV knew damn well what they were doing to put her out there, and then have that royal CUNT Sarah Silverman march her troll ass out onstage and rip Britney’s fucking CHILDREN who have done nothing to deserve being ridiculed like that. The whole thing was a fucking disgrace, and I was too uncomfortable to watch the rest of the show. I hope MTV is proud of themselves, but personally, that whole display did nothing but remind me why I don’t even watch that channel anymore. They should be ashamed.
Excellent point Kristina. I hadn’t even thought about MTV’s responsibility. I only saw the performance on youtube, but as much as I hate to say it, because I’m a fan of Silverman’s, all the crap she was saying right after was awful even for her (especially going after the kids). It was actually uncomfortable to watch.
britney spears is an interesting little thing isnt she.
truth is though, no matter what, she is still somewhat of a phenom. she got the opening gig at the VMAs to boost ratings and because people would be interested.
no one else is interesting enough to enough people for them to have been asked to open the show when they hadent done anything musically for several years.
and im not sure if she was/is a terrible singer, or just a pretty bad singer, but i will admit she could always put on an entertaining performance. whioh is what makes her VMA flop so interesting and fascinating. she looked bad and didnt move very much and had no energy and didnt even lipsync very well. that was not britney the very interesting performer that she was before.
with all that said, its way too early for a movie about her, because who knows whats gonna happen next. something tells me shes not done, not done with her shitty music, and not done with everything else she does that many find so fascinating. but in time, oh yes, a movie will be made. i might tune in.
oh and the fat thing? she did look fat COMPARED to how perfectly hot she looks in any other performance of hers.
she just wasnt prepared, and wasnt into the performance at all. i almost feel bad, shes quite messed up. its like the VMAs forced her to do this show and she wasnt ready/didnt want to do it yet. whatever.
Kristina, I think you have hit a nail on the head. It would not surprise me to in the least if they directly or indirectly were involved in the other “main event” of the evening…(the ground n pound antics of Kid Rock and Tommy Lee) but I have slowly lost respect for MTV over the last 15 years or so for a variety of reasons. One that has crept up again in the last few days:
*They were the sponsor of the halftime Super ‘Viagra’ Bowl, where a “wardrobe malfuction” took place. The excuse was extremely hypocritical: “Timberlake was supposed to do it, but only the bra of Janet Jackson would show”. So, that’s okay in front of a family audience, then? Then MTV and the rest of the vermin bitch about the FCC cracking down?
@Anonymous
It WAS truly painful to watch. When the routine first started, she was wobbly, but I just assumed that it was those massive heels that she was wearing. As it went on, I could feel myself drawing away from the television. I was on the phone with my mom and little sister, telling them to watch, and we all just gasped when we saw how out of it she was. It’s not her weight that bothers me. For fuck’s sake, she’s had two kids! It’s that zoned-out look on her face that freaked me out. CNN was talking about it last night, and one guy said it reminded him of Elvis’ last performance before he died. She annoys the hell out of me, as do her little clique of retards that she runs with, but if she doesn’t snap out of it, she won’t live to see 30.
I was forced to sit through “Crossroads.” That was enough.
@kristina
silverman was hilarious.
i think you are missing out on one very important thing: britney got what she asked for. she wants more! didn’t you hear the song? more fame, more money, more press, more more more!
i thought that the lyrics to the song were really interesting…they were so narcissistic while she turned in this terrible performance that spoke louder with words that she has had enough.
i think silverman gave britney exactly what she deserved, only 8 years too late.
it is a fitting reaction to someone who literally got one stage, asked for more money, more fame and more recognition while proving in their performance that they did not deserve it.
go buy an indie cd, support some artists, learn some new songs and wash this garbage out of your brain.
@Miles
If you want to bust on Britney, that’s fine, but you don’t fuck with somebody’s kids. That’s crossing a line.
maybe if their mother wasn’t a trashy attention whore they would be spared these things.
fact: they are going to have a much more privileged life then any of us ever will. my sympathies only run so deep. i can only go “Ooooo, the poor millionaire” for so long. some people have real problems. like their husband’s being maimed at war, or not being able to afford food for their kids.
i feel sympathy for those people. sympathy for britney and her kids? because someone said something onstage that ordinairy people say everyday? never.
people should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this sort of trash to impact their lives. it really is garbage. it has no value. i guess i am guilty too, because i am here talking about it.
@Miles
Well, this trash doesn’t impact your life or my life. It’s just something to talk about.
And yeah, my sympathy for her doesn’t run very deep, but what MTV did was pretty screwed up, and if she is as bad a mother as people are saying, then I feel deeply for those children. No kid deserves to have their teeth rotting out because Mommy only feeds them Cheetos.
Kristina:
well, i kind of disagree about it impacting our lives. popular culture in a very real way helps define the majority of north american people’s social environment.
while it is not the be all and end all, i would say that at the end of the day it effects the attitudes/opinions of the people around us. and i don’t see how someone like britney can have a healthy effect.
i think the whole idea of mtv setting her up is interesting….but it also makes me wonder a couple of other things….
did britney know she wasn’t prepared? or is she in that thick of a ‘bubble’?
did her handlers see how unprepared she was?
did the execs who own her contract see how unprepared she was?
we have to assume that if MTV saw the problem, other then other people did too. i think that offers up some more food for thought on the subject.
now personally i don’t know if she is a bad mother or not. why? because i don’t know her. i have never been in her house, i have never met her kids. i think that any info we get is filtered and positioned for an agenda, whether it is coming from a the tabloids or her PR people.
