Not of this year or of Herzog's career. I'm just surprised / saddened there's not more of a push to see Herzog recognized. Although usually I'm perfectly ambivilant about awards. I'm probably naive but I expected the Oscars to jump at the chance to give Herzog an award but it doesn't even look like he's in the running. It seems like he's universally recognized as the greatest living director (is Bergman still alive?) and there wont be another chance to nominate him anytime soon. What a steaming pile that was. Anyway, I'd replace Michael Clayton, BtDkyD, and the rat movie with Gone Baby Gone, Waitress, and Rescue Dawn.
