Arnold Schwarzenegger Returning to Acting?
Nope, this isn’t some horrible joke that I’m pulling on you faithful movie blog readers. There has been a lot of talk recently about how the biggest action star in the world turned governor may be returning to the big screen in 2011.
Moviehole gives us this:
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ageing Mr. Freeze has been inspired by buddies and fellow 80s action heroes Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis’s recent reign at the box office to whack his junk back up there on the white screen behind the red curtains.
According to the article, Schwarzenegger would possibly return to work in 2011.
“A few high-profile writers of action films who wished not to be ID’d (you know how that is) were heard conferring that before the strike hit, agents were putting out feelers for material and pitches to develop projects with Schwarzenegger in mind”, says columnist Ray Richmond. “
Hmm…as tacky as I think it is for him possibly go back and to try to resurrect his film career after he’s become a successful politician, I am also hoping this news is true, because there have been sequels I have been dying to see since his retirement to film. I want to see ‘True Lies 2!’ Also, with this news, could he possibly be returning to the ‘Terminator’ series as well?
If Sly Stallone can resurrect his action star status, then Arnold Schwarzenegger can definitely do the same!
So what are your thoughts? Are you looking forward to the day you can hear Schwarzenegger utter the words, ‘I’ll be back?”
Absolutely yes! I miss him so much on the big screen and he has to come back to what he does best. I can think of a huge list of movies I’d love to see him do just off the top of my head.
I think that Ahnold should only come back if he is offered a really great script. Some of his more recent movies (Eraser, Collateral Damage) were pretty bad.
Here’s hoping for a True Lies 2.

That’s what I thought about Stallone when he said he’d play Rocky again and I couldn’t have been more wrong. I still think Arnie can kick plenty of ass.

*About Stallone’s “comeback”. While “Rocky Balboa” had nice closure and was the best Rocky film since III, “Rambo”, although produced, still has to make the mark as it hasn’t been released yet.
*Schwarzenegger is more interested in politics. He might do a cameo or so, but, he didn’t run for Mayor like Clint Eastwood. He ran for, and won, Governor of CA. He’s pretty much done with acting. However…I would not rule out director Schwarzenegger after his term is up. He’s helmed a few things before…
*If I am wrong and he takes True Lies 2, I’d see it if they got Jamie Lee Curtis back…and an eyepatch wearing Chareton Heston. James Cameron at the helm too.
Tom Arnold is optional, but he was good in True Lies. I’d much rather see a pistol packing Alyssa Milano in Commando 2, however.
Better yet…another team up with Danny DeVito. That would be outstanding.

You’re right that Stallone was kick ass in Rocky Balboa and I think that Rambo is going to rule too.
I don’t think Arnie’s too old to do action anymore, I think he would kick some major *ss in True Lies 2 (with James Cameron directing.) I just think he’s too old to be a Terminator. I mean come on, they don’t make “old-guy” Terminators.

There are a few gems in action movies these days, but NONE of them with the presence of Big Arnie. I’d gladly welcome him on-screen again.
This is great news. He may not be the best actor in the world, but I HAVE enjoyed just about everything he has ever done on film. I hope this is true.

I’ve said before, make a new Conan movie and either do old Conan the king in live action or CG motion capture like Beowulf which would allow Arnie to play a younger (more in shape) Conan and do all sorts of action that he’s too old to do for real these days.
Or Total Recall 2 would be so cool to see because that’s not really about the action as much as True Lies. I wanna get my ass to Mars again.

I hope Mr.Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back to BIG MOVIES in 2011 when I am quite happy and my realize master him. I just most great fan of him from my childhood. I have planned to make new film Terminator sequel part 5. I will make it is most good movie more than T1, T2, T3 and T4… I will ask to Director Mr. James Cameron ( T1,T2 and True Lies). I want to see him more as Great Actor for Actions movies lots…..

Hey I hope he does return to the big screen he is one of my favorite actors! I think he could still be a great terminator they could just say that skynet aged him to throw off john. If we really want to return just flood his inbox on the California governors page with emails letting him know he still has die hard fans and not to let them down!!

And I must agree with that. Specially a Terminator sequel or maybe he could even make a special appereance in the new series Sarah connor Chronicles – that would be cool too.
But in the end I’d be happy to see him just to see him in the big screens again whatever the role migth be. I trust that the Senator of California would not agree to play anything else but something to match his standards – meaning I’m sure that movie would make entertaiment history whatever it might be.

Absolutely possible, BUT, Arnold wasn’s a Great political guy, His image is a little bit destroyed, But – I know it doesn’t matter “because is USA” right? anything can happen! But – I’m pretty sure that internationally he will not be considered as the same super star!!
I’d heard rumours that there was going to be a True Lies 2 and been waiting and hoping that arnold schwarzenegger would do True Lies 2 because I think True Lies is definitly one of my favourite Arnie films

I’d love to see Mr. Schwarzenegger return to what he does best hollywood is hurting without him, and sylvester can’t go it alone forever. If there is a True lies 2, then James cameron needs to direct it.
