Semi-Pro Trailer
The first official Semi-Pro trailer has been released. Look, I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating here. I’ve been a big fan of Will Ferrell for a long time. The guy has done some brilliant classic stuff over his already fantastic career… but I’m starting to get a little bored of the exact same thing from him over and over and over and over and over again. He’s a clueless figure skater. He’s a clueless race car driver. He’s a clueless newsman. Now he’s a clueless basketball player.
Anyway, if it’s Ferrell, I’ll still give it the benefit of the doubt and show up for it with high HOPES. This Semi-Pro trailer does indeed just look like more of the same… but there are some flashes of genius in it (HINT… FERRELL’S LAST LINE IN THE TRAILER LITTERALLY MADE ME SPIT UP MY WATER A LITTLE BIT).

Looks horrible. Its amazing how fast Ferrell is becoming a clone of Chevy Chace during his unfunny period. He needs to either select some better movies or get a new agent fast. Something.
Ill go see it. I havent been impressed by him in a lead role in a while, but the trailers always make it seem like the movie will be absolutely hilarious.
They should just scrap plots altogether in his movies and just make it some free-form collection of funny scenes. Like just a hour long trailer.

The studios should give a DVD release date with the theatrical release date. This way people can plan accordingly.

This actually looks somewhat funny…I am NOT a fan of any Will Ferrell films besides Fiction and Roxbury and this actually made me laugh in a few places…
And being an ex-basketball player/fan it perks my interest as well, surprisingly.
Wheres all this farrell hate coming from. This guy is comedy gold, Anchorman is still one of the funniest movies of all time. and the stuff he was on funnyordie.com is just as good. I agree Talledega Nights was disappointing, but the guy did decent in stranger than fiction.
Anyway this looks like it will be a stupid good time and Im all for it. Plus he fights a friggin bear, if u dont think thats funny…..i will fight you.

I’ve liked all of Farrell’s films, but I have to agree that he needs to change tack soon, or it’ll get really boring. I think that, basically, if this film isn’t funny, his career will go down the swannie.
I love Will Farrell, but this movie doesn’t look very good. I was hoping he would come back strong after that piss poor Blades of Glory.
I must be the only one who hated Anchorman. I can’t remember laughing one time during it. And Old School was pretty crap too.
Will Ferrell is the most overrated comedian ever! He needs a great cast around him to make him seem funny. I think if I were an 8 year old kid, Will Ferrell would be funny. maybe?

Will is up and down…I think he may be better doing short skits, but I do go for the flashes of briliance…I like the innocent bumbling he does…
