Bay talks Transformers 2
As if we need more reasons to look forward to Transformers 2, Michael Bay dropped some hints about what is to come. SuperHero Hype quotes Bay:
For the millions of viewers that logged on this year I want to thank you for the support. Transformers 2 will be coming soon. The new robots are really really unique and there are a lot of them this time.
Wait. Did I read that right?
The robots are going to be UNIQUE? And there will be lots of them?
I first had hoped that there would be more bots, but really I was satisfied with the amount they had. Any more might have just made it too epic of a battle to really get emotionally tied to the results. When he says “a lot” is he saying there will be a lot more? Like 3 or 4? Or are we talking dozens.
And what does “unique” mean? Is he making up new Transformers?
Now this fanboy will read into things far too much and I just start to spiral into unweildy speculation.
So to distract me, what Autobots or Decepticons do you think need to be added to the sequel? I think they should have Soundwave for sure though clearly he wont transform into a Walkman. Or an Ipod. And of course I think they should include HotRod. I have always found a connection to that character.
So who is in?
Autobots: Kup, Hotrod, Arcee
Decepticons: Soundwave, Astrotrain, Lazerbeak

Sounds like more transforming vending machines to me, or any electronic gadet they can get paid for as product placement.
Transformers 2 will look more like a sequel to “Batteries Not Included”.
Soundwave will be in the sequel, whether Micheal Bay wants him or not (300 million in domestic boxoffice say fans get what they want).
It would have been nice to see Devastator, but they messed that up by naming two of the Decepticons in the first movie Bonecrusher and Devastator.
sigh….knowing bay we are gonna get a lot more poorly designed crappy looking versions of wheeljack, hotrod (that one is gonna be hilarious), soundwave, and other cool characters……
its not enough he turned the 1st movie into a poorly put together mess of cornball dialogue and human characters i dont give a fuck about…..its not enough he made jazz breakdance and say wassup bitches, but now we’re prolly gonna get robot xboxes or coke machines or some other product placement robots…..damn u michael bay……damn u to hell
lol hotrod will be in it most likely…though i think he is a tool and should just not come around….but im sure there will be a robot on each side thats huge and breaks up into 5 parts so kids can go and buy all 5 and they can make a giant shiny happy death machine!

Decepticons: Unicron, Galvatron, Constructicons (but as Monty said, Bonecrusher and Devastator were a bad choice for names in the first one)
All I want from Michael Bay is some coherent action scenes. Plus, give the Decepticons a little more personality in their designs. I could hardly tell who was who on the Decepticons side.
It would be nice if Starscream were in the movie for more than 5 minutes this time.

I dont get why they coudnt use old cars unless in some designs,the Bayester wanted to make product advertasiment wherever he could,i now,but common just a little less next time pliss!
And the constructicons would be a good call,BUT WAIT he messed that one too damn !!!
OH OH Almost forgot! since transformers are not imune to frozen temperatures next time you wanna make then travel into space put then in a spaceship ok!!!

I don’t care for Hot Rod or Arcee.
They should burn a fiery death if they bring in Galvatron.
I doubt Unicron, but if they did, why not have Primus too.

Maybe he’ll have some HD-DVD players and some Blu-Rays transform and duke it out.
Metroplex could be kind of cool. Sixshot, Ultra Magnus, Alpha Trion, Superion, Defensor, Menasor, Predaking, or any group that forms a giant transformer since, as others have posted, Bay screwed up Devastator.
Most importantly, the absence of all humans and Jazz would be great.
Maybe this is part of the Michael Bay plan. He was previously mentioned stating that, “Leaking false information to throw everyone off.” When the true details come out then everyone could panic if the “unique” bots are quite horrible.
First movie was crap with 2 decent scenes….
Autobots: Cliffjumper, Hound, and Wheeljack.
Decepticons: Soundwave, Skywarp, Thundercracker.
That’s all I can think of right now.
Yeah I hope they dont let Bay go nuts in terms of who or what characters are in the sequel. They need to have a “Transformers purist” involved with the whole process to make sure Bay doesnt do something retarded.
Just someone to say “Im not sure thats a good idea Mike” when he tries to make a Decepticon out of a Stop Sign or something.
decepticons-soundwave and the insecticons (bays aircraft carrier idea will prob be one as well)
autobots- hotrod(ferrari,bay loves),airial bots(can combine to become superion to take on the decepticon aircraft carrier!)
no matter what if the aircraft carrier idea comes in as a character the autobots are going to need someone of similar size to be able to compete! (who tho???)

more of the original autobots and decepticons, like hound, wheeljack, sideswipe, and prowl. for decepticons, soundwave, rumble, ravage, laserbeak, and thundercracker. then they could gradually add in the newer characters. they should milk the series for all it’s worth.
AND DON’T KILL OPTIMUS THIS TIME.

what he needs is to bring in more of the megatron starscream banter……
I just hope this time around they make it watchable. Going a more serious route with the writing would be a good starting point.

I for one liked the film, they can still use bonecrusher as part of the constructicons since we know Megatron will be back. My perdonal pick for the new bots would be my favoret bot skyfire, there could be a really cool fight between him and starscreem. If they introduce the dinobot, then they also should intro the insecticons. I do wish that they keep away from the merging bots.
Ok my breakdown
Autobots: Prime, Skyfire, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, Hound and Merage or Hotshot (maybe as a sibling to Bumblebee)
Decepticons: Megatron, Starcreemm, Soundwave (complet with the same voice) you habe to have ravage in there someplace, and since we had scorpinox what about Blackaracnia?
As cool as I think the Dinobots are, honestly I can’t see them fitting in with the whole “Robots in Disguise” thing in the movie. Prime made a point of hiding them in plain sight.
Big robot dinosaurs might be too obvious. Unless it was a car that changed into a dino.
Now that would be cool.
The combo groups sound like a popular choice, and I wonder if he wont just make more little bots that combine to make one normal sized bot.
If not, I am fond of the Arialbots as they give the autobots some aerial assistance. Their nemesis, the Stunticons gave the Decepticons more cars, so it leveled the playing field.

Decepticons: The rest of the Seekers-Thundercracker and skyward, absolutely Soundwave and rumble “You ready to rumble with Rumble!”
they should jetfire, hotrod, and arcee for the new autobots.

*they should have a backstory about sunstorm and starscream

Hot Rod should be based on Jay Leno’s Modified Z06 Corvette, it’s a bad ass car I saw at a car show.
Skyfire definently Skyfire, Sun streeker & Sideswipe would be nice too

In that movie talk I heard and read about rumours about Bumblebee in love with Arcee I would like to see that and I don’t have to worry about it, I think Micheal Bay knows about it.
Ok i dont think michael bay screwed up the devistator thing! they can put into the movie that they are useing! the movies devestators spark to create 5 new robots! and what do those 5 robots do??? combine to create devistator!
