I have to say I am actually kind of glad they cast a non “big name” movie star, but to be honest, I never cared for Duke – he’s the boy scout of the Joe team really, in both the comic and the cartoon.

However I am still totally anxious to see who will play Storm Shadow…

NO! NO! NO! This is really bad. I dont want a clean cut pretty boy. I want my Duke to be a grunt miliray commander. Whats next! Cobra Commander being player by Jim Carry? Destro being played by Clark Dunken? The biggest flaw of this movie will be casting.

This is the first news that makes me at all interested in this project. Give him a long solid shirtless scene and I’m there. Yummmmmmm.

I expect it to be pointless dreck otherwise. Movies based on dolls are even stupider ideas than movies based on video games.

Tatum is a rising actor whose roles get better and better. While best known for Step Up, that doesn’t give his acting skills much credit. As silly as that film was, it wasn’t horrible. And I thought he was good in Havoc.

That said, it seems he’s trying more for action-adventure film roles. I think GI Joe is a mis-step, as opposed to say Public Enemies or even Parkour.
