Day Zero Trailer
This is a great idea for a film; I cannot even imagine what it would like to be drafted into war. I think telling the tale from differing perspectives is the best way to do this, and will be able to best convey the range of emotions that people would feel at an event like this.
I know what I would do if I was drafted by the Canadian government; I would draft dodge like champ and live in a tree-house. I would grow a beard, eat squirrels and reindeer till the whole event blew over and then run nude in the streets screaming that I was abducted by aliens.
Day Zero is set for a limited release January 18, 2008 and will soon follow with a DVD release on February 26, 2008.
No worries. Canada would need an army first before they could instate a draft.

Having been a former marine I got into a lot arguments about the draft and stop loss. I don’t know if anybody remembers but there was the all the rumors after Iraq started that there would be a draft and all these people were up in arms about it. I was telling people left and right there wasn’t going to be a draft. I can only imagine what this movie is going to provoke.
It is good to see Elijah Wood in movie though.
