Why do people always talk about twists in M. Night's movies. He has done TWO films with twists in them and somehow people get stuck on those as if he's always trying to pull off a good twists. You as movie fans should know this and should acknowledge that and not spout out miss information to the general public. I know the guy is a public punching bag these days but damn, get your story straight.

As for the comment about musicians not making any difference. What the fuck? The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Sex pistols, Public Enemy, even fucking Cat Stevens. These are all musicians that made a HUGE difference in their society at the time and had HUGE influence on the music industry. They spoke directly to a large number of people and made a difference. Live Aid anyone?
Can you really say the same thing about Jim Henson? Sure he did great films and his characters were fantastic but as for influence and making a difference for a generation. Hardly. Can you name me one thing that's been directly influenced by The Muppets or Jim Henson or anything that they did that caused a great difference in society. The only contribution that the Muppets had was that a generation appreciated hand puppets.

Hey John, I have to say I think a Venom movie would be just fine if they have Venom as kind of a anti-hero. If you are at all familiar with the comic book than you would know that he had his own for quite some time. He worked as kind of like an underground assassin for some time..

Venom is one of my favorite Marvel characters period and I think it would be completely possible to do a movie with Venom without making him a villain.

i just listened to the show and john do you seriously believe that no musician or band has had any effect on the world at large??? i loved the tone of bemused shock in dougs voice after you spouted out that great one......

so you just outright dismiss the effect acts like elvis and the beatles had on the world? especially the beatles. they changed everything.
music is, has and always will be right at the forefront of all cultural shifts not only reflecting the changing attitudes and times but heavily influencing it.
it is certainly more influential on the way we live then any fucking puppet show.

then you bring up gandhi as an example of a world changer....yeah he sure changed the world alright...i mean the world is just so peaceful now.

amazing.

oh and why does everyone go on about shaymalanaamamamas twists.

wide awake - twist? no

sixth sense - twist? yes.

unbreakable (by far his best film)- twist? not really.
so sam jackson turns out to be the villain. hardly a twist. its not as if we had been lead to believe there was no possible way he was the baddie. in fact it was kind of obvious.

signs - twist? no.
not at all. just a stupid ending ruining what had been a good film.but the aliens being unable to tolerate water is not a twist.

the village- twist? yes.
a fucking terrible one that I guessed from the first trailer.

lady in the water - twist? no.
just a fucking heap of self indulgent trash.

so there we go ....out of 6 films only 2 films with a traditional twist in that the reveal changes everything you have just watched. thats what a twist does. thats why I don't include unbreakable. that reveal falls more into the "whodunnit" realm then a real traditional twist. i mean finding out sam jackson is the bad guy doesn't exactly change everything you have seen to that point.
i know some people include it as a twist but personally I don't.

anyway my point is people go on about his twists everytime a film comes out and he has only done it twice.
anyway....

Not much to add except thanks.

Any new Star Wars related material will have to prove itself to me first by the way of good word of mouth before I am willing to plunk down any more time or money.

I haven't seen strange wilderness yet. But, I wonder what's happening with Steve Zahn's career? I saw him in Rescue Dawn and that dude can act! Do you think making a movie like this will hurt or help his career?
