Transformers, Ratatouille, Pirates and Harry Potter hogged all the awards. These films have fantastic effects, and they all certainly deserve recognition. I am a person that prefers rubber suits over CGI whenever possible, but I do not deny the importance and magic of great CGI. To all the winners; we salute thee!

I’m surprised that Beowulf wasn’t mentioned at all.

  2. Gareth says:

Congrats to Transformers,Ratatouille, Pirates and Harry Potter for winning some silverware

  3. Kristina says:

I was thinking about who would win the Oscar for this earlier today as I was working on my online ballot, and the more that I think about it, the more that I believe TF has it in the bag. Davy Jones has already won an Oscar, so the bloom is off that rose. As impressive as he is, all those moving parts during those transformations is much more diffcult to execute, and in light of how real they all looked…they have to win. I watched the movie again last weekend, and I just marveled at how Optimus’s face was reflected in the parts on his chest during close-ups. Just incredible work.
