A-Team Release Date Annaounced
It looks like the A-Team will be upon is in 2009, we get the following news from the professionals at Variety:
Twentieth Century Fox has skedded John Singleton’s film version of 1980s TV series “The A-Team” for release on June 12, 2009. Singleton will direct the action-adventure from a script by writing partners Michael Brandt and Derek Haas (”Wanted,” “3:10 to Yuma”).
Well good gracious! With a release date announced, I am guessing that we should soon expect some casting news to follow. I am excited about the idea of an A-Team film, but the casting is going to be key. For years now we have mulled about the different casting possibilities and it will be interesting to see if any of our dream picks get selected. We should start an A-Team pool right here, right now. Post the 4 people you think will get hired for the job, and the winner will have eternal bragging rights and the respect of your peers. I will also throw in a Jumbo bag of cool ranch Doritos.
B.A. = Ving Rhames
Murdoch = Will Arnett
Face = Paul Walker
Hannibal = Jodie Foster
Booya.
Oh yeah, and the van will be played by Val Kilmer.

Yes it’s the cast from “Three Kings”, but I think they’d be perfect, especially if they go a Desert Storm route for the backstory.

Hannibal – Burt Reynolds
I love George Clooney as Hannibal.
Micheal Clarke Duncan as BA is growing on me.
Charlie Sheen as Face could be fun.
The obvious choice for Murdoch is Jim Carrey but that could get annoying, so lets say…Steve Zahn.

I think 12 Monkeys has a good one. But I think I like Michael Clarke Duncan for BA a bit more than Ving Rhames. It’s really a coin toss though.

I can see doug is expecting this to be R rated.
Unfortunatley it won’t be. They will shoot it as an R rated movie but i am sure fox will turn it into PG-13 by dubbing most of the foul language.
They did that to Die Hard 4 and later released a dvd in which they put back all the foul dialogues and digitally added blood.
BA – Terry Crews (White Chicks, The Longest Yard, Idiocracy)
He has the physical presence and the acting ability to make you laugh and at the same time be scared shitless of him.

I always looked at the movie “Three kings” as a modern version of the “A-Team” so yea using those actors to reprise there “Three Kings” roles would make a LOT of sense.

Hannibal= Kurt Russel I mean does anyone remember big trouble in little china. He would rock as Hannibal.

I love the Will Arnett suggestion for Murdock. Woody Harrelson is great too.

Katee Sackhoff should be cast as “Face” so she can claim both of Dirk Benedict’s classic roles :)

My preference would be:

Face – Rob Lowe (I think Rob would be great at this, but I could also see David Duchovny or Mark Wahlberg.)
Hannibal – Phillip Seymor Hoffman (He has the whole package. I like Bruce Willis or Mel Gibson too though. Not sure they can get either for this role though.)
I think Mr T should play the B.A.Baracus,Dirk Benedict as Face,Dwight Schultz as Howling mad,since our dear fellow late George Peppard is no longer with us we can have Tommy Lee Jones or Harrison Ford as Hannibal i think either of them will suit the role play.As long as we have the old team and just 1 new guy the film should be a hit. But nobody should play Mr T’s role ‘coz’ neither of the above suit the role.Please do consider this mail as i was and still am a big fan of the A-Team.
Burt Reynolds, Tommy Lee Jones, Harrison Ford, Anthony Hopkins,all great ideas for Hannibal… if u set it in an old folks home. Old-timer:”The nurses won’t stop serving us potato thru a straw”,with people to save from potato thru a straw the A-Team gather a wheelchair, a zimmer frame, an IV Line, plus some incontinence nappies and a few wrinkly old hand close-ups later the team have assembled a tank firing fecal bombs. And they get away just before Diagnosis Murder starts, brilliant, it practically writes itself, ha ha. Looking old and/or having grey hair doesn’t qualify one as a good idea for Hannibal, may as well cast Connery or Eastwood at that rate. He doesn’t have to be white either.
