Pathology Set Visit and a Chat With Milo Ventimiglia
Hey guys, as some of you know, I have unashamedly been championing this new little film coming out on April 18th called “Pathology” for almost a year now, ever since I visited the set and saw about 20-30 minutes of footage from the film. I loved what I saw. I was a big fan of “Crank”, and when I heard the same guys who did that film were behind this one, and that Milo Ventimiglia (star of my second favorite show on TV, Heroes) I was instantly interested… after I saw the footage I was completely hooked, and I want everyone to see it.
I’ve been on a lot of set visits, and none of them have excited me like this one. Hell, I’m more excited about this film than I am about the new Hulk film… and I’m IN a couple of scenes in that movie. :P
To that end, and for all you Milo fans out there, I present to you this little video highlighting my visit on the set and my chat with Milo about the film. Apparently Milo is also something of a smart ass:
JOHN: With Rocky, Heroes and now Pathology your career is really taking off
MILO: And I guess this is my first time on The Movie Blog, so I guess that means I’ve made it to the top of the middle.
If you like the video and would like to share it on your own facebook/myspace/blog/webpage, you can grab the YouTube version of it here

I’ve got to admit your enthusiasm for this movie is contagious. Now I’m interested. I swear, if that studio isn’t paying you a chunk of their marketing budget, they SHOULD. I never would have even heard of this flick, or have been interested in it if it wasn’t for TMB.
Milo seems pretty cool and laid back. I’ve never seen him in anything other than heroes, so it’ll be cool to see him in a different role
I still have my doubts about the film, and it getting a limited release isn’t doing much to improve that. But that Neveldene guy is hilarious. He should put himself in his own movies, he’s always been really good on the live movie blog shows.
Yeah he seems like a real nice guy.
However, this doesn’t excuse the fact that the trailer I was shown makes the movie appear boring as crap. And to have horrible acting all around. I predict box office failure on this one. BTW, what’s the budget on this film?
Until I’m proven otherwise John, I just can’t get excited about it. However, it seems like a fun set to be on and I’m glad you’re living out your dream and enjoying yourself.
John,
Please, tell me you’re getting something out of this. A production deal, executive producing credit or just some cash. Don’t tell me you’re kissing there ass for nothing.
Milo is a serviceable actor and the directors are average at best. They seem like great guys just not great directors.
I’ve always liked your site because even if I disagreed with you, I could at least enjoy the fact that you were wrong, but honest. I can’t say honest with certainty anymore.
Don’t turn into Harry Knowles Part 2.
Hey Ryan,
Nope, I’m not getting anything for it. I just really like this film and I’ve been excited about it for a long time.
Honestly is never something you’ll have to worry about with me. Hell… I just gave a movie I was in (Jumper) a bad review. :P
Oh… and I’m never wrong. :P
This constant pimping of a mediocre-at-best movie is getting a little bizarre, anad is making me much less interested in ever reading the site again. It’s bordering on an unhealthy obsession.
Hey JoJo

Really? You’ve seen the movie? Oh that’s right… you haven’t.

The look on my face that you can’t see right now is me not caring.
I have no problem at all with John pimping this movie. It’s his site, if he’s passionate about a movie, he has every right to pimp it. If you don’t like it, leave. And I would hardly call what he’s doing “constant”.
I don’t understand these haters. What do you want from John? Write bad about every movie that comes out? Is someone only a real critic if they hate on every movie?
He thinks the movie looks cool, bottom line. He already mentioned that they are screening the movie for critics three weeks out, so we will all know then if the movie is good or bad. Give John some f*cking credit.
there is no way john can give a truly honest opinion about this film. that is just a fact of life. he is a just a human being.
he is friends with these guys…interviewed them…partied with them….mediated the panel discussion for the film at comic con…
does anyone truly believe that john will be able to give a one hundred percent non biased straight laced review of this film?
I mean by all means pimp the film all you want but what is the point in reviewing it?
this is not an attack on you john don’t take this the wrong way. i am not being a “hater” although I really depise that term….someone criticises something and get sdismissed as a “hater” as if that means their opinion means nothing…but anyway
i am not being a hater but i just think you would be better served letting someone else from your team review the film. I truly believe that you are honest all the time in your opinions however misguided they may be. that much is obvious from some of the crazy things I see you post here ;p but I really hope you don’t review this film because it would be a shame to see you fall intothe harry knowles trap of giving yor friends good reviews.
there is a huge difference between being honest about a film you were an extra in to being honest about a film made by the team of filmmakers who had you mediate their panel at comic con, party with them, get dexter to call one of your writers etc etc
I just think you are just way too close to these guys to be able to give a totally honest opinion and I will disappointed to see you go all knowles on us.
and how can you say you are never wrong when more than once you have referred to milo as a good actor???;p
Hey Alfie,
Milo is a good actor.

Kinda like the way I’m friends with Ken Davitian, the first celebrity guest we’ve ever had on our show, who took me out for dinner multiple times and who I see every week… and yet we gave Spartans our worst review ever.
I will review this movie, and I’ll be honest about it. If you have a problem with that, then you clearly don’t understand what this site is. This is my blog, where I give MY thoughts, impressions, opinions and experiences. I’m not a “Film Critic”

No one can ever give a 100% unbiased review of a film, because we all go into a movie with pre-existing likes, dislikes, opinions and expectations. Anyone who says differently is a liar.
The main basis for my excitement of this movie is that fact that I’ve seen 20-30 minutes of it… and it ruled.
Remember, these are the same guys who are doing “Game”. I’ve been on set of that movie, seen some footage… and I think it looks interesting… but you don’t hear me getting all excited about it… because… I’m not. I don’t think it looks nearly as good as Pathology. It’s all based on what I’ve seen… not who I know.
oh and milo is beyond terrible at the art of acting.
he has one expresssion…gormless.
well actually two expressions
1. totally gormless
2. slightly less gormless
he’s awful.
Pretty but awful.
I just don’t understand why everyone assumes this movie will suck, when very little of it has been seen by people. I’m a newbie to this site, found it last year, and may be because of that I’m not understanding the comments. By why is everyone assuming the movie sucks? I have not seen the movie yet, but I think it looks pretty cool. As for Milo’s acting he seems okay in the trailer and I thought he was good in Rocky, I don’t watch Heroes so I have no comment on that. I think the attacks on John should be put on hold until the movie has been seen. John has said he’s seen only 20-30 minutes of it, so it’s possible he could say that the final version was weak or something since he has yet to see the finished product. Just give the movie and John a chance.
