Its been 15 years since I read the book, but from what I remember of the main character Hanks just doesn't seem right. I don't know who would be best, but it wasn't like Hanks was "born to play the part". There are plenty of other talented actors who could make the role their own. I wouldn’t see it as a huge blow, especially after seeing Hanks’ last blockbuster-book-based movie the Da Vinci Code. Its been 15 years since I read the book, but from what I remember of the main character Hanks just doesn’t seem right.
