Uwe Boll To Open Postal Against Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
Uwe Boll is making a case for Postal by pitting it against the toughest of opponents in Indy 4! We get this outstanding news and following preposterous quote thanks to our friends at slashfilm:
“On the Indiana Jones weekend – May 23 – we will go out and destroy Indiana Jones in the Box Office! We all know that Harrison Ford is older as my grandpa and his time is up – would Michael Moore say!”
“Spielberg gets sloppy. We saw that with War of the Worlds (why the fuck the older brother survived?) and also in parts of Jaws, E.T., Munich etc.! My performance in Postal as ‘Nazi Theme Park Owner’ outperforms easily Ben Kingsley in Schindler’s List!”
You have to admire Uwe Boll’s bravado and ability to smack talk in the face of overwhelming defeat. His outlandish and comedically insulting challenge delights me and it will certainly be interesting to se how his strategy pans out. The weekend will certainly be getting a lot of buzz, and perhaps Uwe plans to piggy back the hype surrounding Indy 4. I know whenever I think of May 23 – I will be thinking about the epic battle that is about to take place.
Uwe had to release the film eventually and since no one wants to open against Indy 4 – it is hilarious that he chose that date to do so. The added insults to Spielberg and Harrison Ford (in the name of competition) shows that he has a sense of humor about the situation and perhaps even a plan. I think this is a way to get free press and I think we can expect to see more outlandish war shouts from Boll as the date draws near.
International friends; do you think Uwe Boll’s strategy is smart, stupid or strange?

He is most certainly a fool. Insulting Spielberg *shakes head*. I guess it makes sense, you couldn’t suck that bad and not be a little stupid.
Well, if anyone ends up seeing Postal it’ll be because Indy was sold out. :P
Uwe Boll is like Beowulf. He goes where nobody else goes and I love him for it.
I have to say, I’m really looking forward to Postal. It looks absolutely ridiculous.
But this is a pretty bad move, because Indy far outweighs the want to see Postal.
This is going to be the biggest one-sided fight in blockbuster history!
Whatever makes him sleep better at night. He knows this movie is a failure already so he is gonna put it up against Indie and have an excuse to why it crapped out at the box office.
THE.FUNNIEST.THING.I.HAVE.READ.ALL.MONTH!!
I’m more excited for Postal than Indy 4. Put me in Boll’s corner that Friday.
But, realistically, how many screens will he even be able to get Postal on?
Recognize the brilliance that is Uwe Boll! I love it, love it, love it! I’m definitely dragging my wife to a May 23 double-feature.
He’s far smarter than people think he is. It’s a gutsy move I have to say. I want to see Postal more than Indy, mostly because I only like Raiders of all the films.
He’s obviously going for the lowest box office weekend take in history, although he does have a point about the older brother in War of the Worlds.
You gotta hand it to this guy. This takes balls few will ever have. I must admit I was wondering how the fuck that older brother lived in War of the Worlds. Me thinks that was a cop out.
I personally thought all of War of the Worlds was crap.
Especially Dakota Fanning’s non-stop screaming.
Uwe Boll’s strategy is stupid i hate this guy.
I changed my opinion of Uwe ever since he beat up those internet critics. I even started double bills of his earlier movies. Granted, we got asleep during Bloodrayne and Alone in the Dark, but he gets better with every new film. Can you say the same for the rest of the directors?
The big studios will make sure Indy 4 wins!
The only way to solve this is to have an Uwe vs Steven boxing match! Perhaps grandpa Ford too!
Uwe Boll slagging off Stephen Spielberg. Now that’s something you don’t get to see everyday.
Lucasfilm doesn’t have to do anything at all, and Postal will already be finished by the time it opens.
@Dylan what are you doing on a site for movie fans?
His challenge is nothing but a PR stunt. Stir up the pot so that Postal won’t be completely forgotten in the list of summer blockbusters. What better way to create buzz about your flick, than by putting it up against one of the biggest movies of the year, and then dissing the iconic lead actor and director. Uwe Boll is smart, and his comments are laden with sarcasm because everyone, including himself, knows that if he had 1/100th of the vision/ability of Spielberg, he still wouldn’t be able to clean Spielberg’s shoes with his tongue after a day at the dog park.
@Andy The Indiana Jones movies are great, but what does a new one really have to offer? Some too-old-for-this jokes, treasure hunting, The Beef with a sword? None of that really excites me. Now go watch the Postal trailer and tell me it doesn’t look entertaining as all hell. Sure, it’s a novelty, and most likely not a good movie, but I’ll take a novelty over a retread/rehash any day.
or you could say I just want to see Dave Foley’s full frontal scene.
Uwe is just a horrible filmmaker. I recently just watched “Elmo goes to the potty” with my nephew and found far more entertaining than any of his films. Maybe he will read this “I’d rather watch a muppet piss and poop in a musical tiolet than watch your stuff”
