I was given the heads up on A Previous Engagement from fellow Canadian comedian Claire Brosseau. We get the following plot synopsis from IMDB:
When Julia Reynolds talks her husband into a family vacation in Malta she has a secret agenda: a date made twenty-five years earlier with her first love.
I saw the trailer over at the film’s official website and it looks to be a delightful tale about adultery, lost love, true love and new love. The film stars Juliet Stevenson, TchĂ©ky Karyo, Daniel Stern and the hilarious Claire Brosseau. Please check out the official site for further details!.
The film will be opening May 9th at the following venues:
Toronto area: Rainbow Cinemas Market Square 6, Rainbow Cinemas Promenade 6, Cineplex Canada Square 8, Empire Empress at Empress Walk, Empire Studio 10 @ Square One
Montreal: AMC Forum 22
Vancouver: Empire Granville 7 Cinemas
Ottawa: Rainbow St.Laurent Cinemas
NYC: the Quad Cinema 34 W13th st.
LA: Music Hall 3, 9036 Wilshire blvd., beverly hills, Town Center 5, 17200 Ventura blvd., encino.

Anyone who’s been married to an adulterous spouse knows there’s no such thing as a ‘delightful’ movie about adultery. :P
it’s delightful if you love woe!
“Delightful” is a word that should only be used by elderly rich women describing the tiny French cafe they had tea and butter scones at.
Start hanging out with more guys immediately or risk losing your manhood entirely.
“Hey, I just heard the Raiders drafted a delightful running back out of Arkansas”.
“Oh indeed. That Al Davis. Another whimsical first round pick. He is such the villainous scamp.”
