He’s good with money and quite clever in handling things and getting what he wants, but when it comes to art, human communication, expressing ideas, he’s almost retarded. His reactions are childish – he told a critic “you dont see courage because you are nothing. and no go to your mum and fuck her …” – and even his boxing stunt probably originated from him thinking “I wish I could beat these guys up” instead of sending an articulate response to critics.

He doesn’t care about the petition, he just threw a big number to show that it would take a lot of people to stop him. He has his own agenda. Also, you keep analysing him in American terms – he’s a street-smart guy from Europe who knows how to handle money and has less than 1 percent of creativity in him. I see guys like him all the time and asking them to create art is like asking your plumber to create a symphony. He probably sees most movies as brainless entertainment that anyone can make and he’s frustrated and doesn’t understand why his stuff isn’t as popular as the other stuff out there.

I’m afraid I signed the petition 2 years ago. I thought the guy seemed very egotistic about his films. But as the months went by, I realized this is a fun guy who makes weird challenges, maintains a positive attitude, and continues to make films no matter what. And hey, if he wasn’t making shitty films, who would everyone complain about, George Lucas? This guy is almost a mondern-day Ed Wood (Sorry if I offended anyone with that statement, lol).

So, I don’t think a petition is necessary for Uwe. Now, for Justice League, maybe that would different…
