Death Race Release Date Rescheduled
The remake of Death Race will now be released August 22, 2008. We get wind of this news thanks to our good friends at comingsoon:
Universal Pictures has moved up director Paul W.S. Anderson remake Death Race from September 26 to August 22, 2008. The action-thriller stars Jason Statham, Joan Allen, Tyrese Gibson, Ian McShane, Natalie Martinez and Jason Clarke.
There you go kids; you have another film to enjoy before you go back to school. For those of you that haven’t seen the original, please check it out before this one is released so you are able to compare the two. The original was a fun film that gained cult status (for good reason), featured David Carradine and a fledgeling Sly Stallone.
I would like the remake train to fall of the rails, but curiosity certainly has gotten the better of me on this one. I doubt this film will please fans of the original, but if they knock it out of the park – I will gladly welcome the accomplishment.
International Friends – are you still holding out hope for this film or have you written it off?

This is good news. I’m looking forward to this remake bigtime.
I can’t wait to see the New World Order society there gonna cook up for this.
And I hope Stathams playing “frankenstein”.
If you ask me if there should be a remake, I’d say no. But I think it’s possible it could be good. Paul WS Anderson is not completely devoid of talent (Event Horizon is still great). This needs to be rated R though. If it’s PG-13, I won’t bother.
This is not a remake. This isn’t a comedy, there are no points for killing pedestrians. This isn’t campy fun.
It might be a very good movie, but unless it has some scenes similar to this; http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6442315181130693637&q=death+race+2000&ei=tUMpSJ6kJ5b0qgPfwKS2CQ&hl=en
