From Zero to Sixty

Steve Martin PortraitSteve Martin is back with Diane Keaton in From Zero to Sixty. We get the scoop today thanks to our friends at comingsoon:

Paramount Pictures has acquired From Zero to Sixty, a Steve Martin pitch for a comedy that will reteam him with Father of the Bride co-star Diane Keaton. Robert Simonds will produce, says Variety.

Martin and Keaton would play a couple in the comedy. Paramount could put the film into production this fall if a writer is drafted quickly.

I have no idea what this film is about, which makes it hard to form an opinion on the above news. I grew up watching Steve Martin films, thanks to my father’s quality taste. The Jerk and The lonely Guy were on regular rotation and every time I hear an announcement that Steve Martin is in a film – I cannot help but hope for another classic. I talk about The Jerk quite a bit, but if you haven’t had a chance to see The Lonely Guy; go rent it now.

We will be sure to keep you up to speed on the progress of this film, and with luck we will find out some plot information shortly.

You can skip to the end and leave a response.

You know what’s great about this? Steve Martin is not co-starring with Catherine Zeta-Jones, or Jessica Alba, or fucking Anna Farris. He is starring, as a couple, with a woman that we can BELIEVE he is a couple with.

    Go figure.

  2. Rodney says:

My wife has an unnatural attraction to this man.

Some women swoon over Brad Pitt or Clooney… my wife… Steve Martin

The Jerk is good, but I really love The Man with Two Brains

  4. Joel from Sweden says:

LA Story is my favourite by far.

BTW: Doug, have you read or listened to Steve Martins Born Standing Up? If you listen to the unabridged audiobook you’ll get not only Steve reading his own book, but some singing and bajo playing as well. It’s a great book about what he was doing when stand up comedy began taking shape.

  5. Lucia from England says:

I love Annie Hall and Something’s Gotta Give.
Diane’s a good actress and I love Steve Martin!
