The Dark Knight Website Launched – Again
Batman:The Dark Knight has been one of the most flooded internet marketing experience I could ever recall, and now finally just weeks into the Summer movie season the website is finalized and ready for launch. But what’s left to launch?
With as much fanfare as you could imagine, IESB.net announces:
The launch of the official Dark Knight website was today. They’ve got a photo gallery (no new images), video (no new video) and downloads (a few wallpapers of the posters).
This is the biggest problem with this flooding of content and teasers and their misnamed “viral” websites promoting this film. This has been OVER promoted – online. The viral sites were not viral, they were just flooded. The publicity is insane about this. There has been so much to talk about this film that we talk about it all the time. We are ready to see it.
Don’t get me wrong, I am still stoked about this movie. But the way it has been promoted online (where I get most of my movie news) you would think this movie is coming out this weekend.
Now the site gets its “official” final launch and there is little there that we haven’t already seen before. The whole “official launch” announcement was just a weak attempt for them to draw attention to say “we added a few goodies to the site” and instead shouted from the rooftops that the site is FINISHED!
Now I have not seen much of this on TV yet, so perhaps they are shifting their focus and now as TV Spots become more predominate, they will lead people to their now completed and fully operational website.
If you want to see the site now that its “done” you can click HERE

I’ve had enough of this shit about two months ago.
as long as they dont dowload the movie and show it everywere im good…or do arbitrary spoilers on my face…
only thing i want is that in batman 3, robin joins batman but instead of naming him robin (cuz it sounds so gay) he couls be nightwing
i know hes is suposed to be nightwing AFTER he teams up with batman and goes solo but its my fantasy so respect it.
yaaa…so tired of it….like they are forcing you to do it. It is for the fans that actually want to participate. If you don’t, it won’t have any effect of your enjoyment or non-enjoyment of the movie. But then again some people just like to whine about everything and anything don’t they.
It’s a website..
Not one of the viral marketing sites that they don’t really make you do.
I’ll agree with Fred that most just like to moan about everything nowadays and the viral marketing is an easy target.
i just hope it lives up to the hype. mr nolan has got to do better fight scenes this time. (my biggest problem with the 1st movie) i respect the “real world” setting of these movies but i think putting in a character such as clayface or mr freeze in the mix would be interesting. i would like to see them place either of these characters in that world.
