First Look at Madagascar 2
I actually liked Madagascar. Dreamworks is often hit or miss with its animation, and its more miss than hit. But I liked this movie. One reason: Penguins.
Those damned penguins were awesome. Every moment they were on screen and up to something I was glued to the screen. They could make an entire movie JUST about the penguins and I would be there day one. Thankfully the sequel is going to be the result of the hair brained mechanics of those awesome penguins.
To get off Madagascar, the New Yorkers have hatched a plan so crazy it just might work. With military precision, the penguins have repaired an old crashed plane – sort of. Once aloft, this unlikely crew stays airborne just enough to make it to the wildest place of all – the vast plains of Africa itself – where our zoo-raised crew encounter species of their own kind for the very first time.
I really wish this was the story of the first movie. Having this zoo crew transplanted from their life of captivity to the wild, I wanted to see the lion meet other lions. Get a real contrast of the differences in their lives.
Well this looks to be exploring that angle, so I am more hopeful about the part of the movie that doesn’t have penguins in it.

I agree. The penguins rocked! But…I thought the rest of the movie was rather lame.
This is opening against Quantum of Solace in your country folks. Make a choice and make the right one;)

Hazmat, I wasnt talking about a movie that has penguins in it, I was talking about THESE penguins.
The segments with the Madagascar Penguins in it are the funniest parts of the movie.
oohh okay- i was confused because someone sayd they made a movie about penguins- okay i didnt know they made a movie about THESE penguins. i thought slushie man meant just some other penguins
the scene when the penguin chop sueis the security guard is too funny, and id love to see 90 minutes of that
They DID make a movie about these penguins…it was a Christmas movie that was included with the movie. I never saw it though.
I am looking forward to Madagascar 2, I really liked the first one.

it was amazing to see the first one, now the second one will be even cooler for me. and i’m 10 years old. me and my brothers going to see it this friday when it comes out. already booked reservations. well my sister did. awesome. it will be hilarious and awesome,awesome,awesome. i’m a number one fan of marty the zibra. chris rock is funny.
they should make a whole movie with the lemurs! they are the best part.
Those Penguins were funny, they actually did make the movie more enjoyable even though the movie is called Madagascar and it’s about being on the African plains we know that real Penguins couldn’t survive a minute out there in that heat but Dreamworks let us use our imaginations a little bit more and I hope Madagascar 3 is about the Penguins
because they were the true stars of this movie.
