790...

there are like 45 ways of making carnage carnage- the venom symbiote being only one- i think they are going to go by the "lizard man spiderman DNA combination" one- or maybe they WILL have connors use that symbiote but hell have to mix it with either spidermans or his own blood

@DAVID
replacing katie holmes with maggie jullenhall is the single most accurate replacements in the history of replacements of sequel movies. perfect move. they both look like twins unless youve slept with them both

I disagree that you couldn't change out Dunst as MJ (ie. getting rid of Holmes for Dark Knight). They had too many villains in SM3 and about 2 min of screen time with the one everyone came to see.

NO MORE EMO PETER PARKER!

Hey Darren,

I think you're totally wrong, but that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. HOWEVER...

Putting Venom IN Spider-Man 3 was not the problem. No one is complaining that Venom was IN the movie. The complaint was Raimi FUCKED HIM UP. He screwed up a great character. Plain and simple.

Spider-Man 4 ...

Okay, look. I said it before, so it looks like I'll have to repeat myself one more time for the masses. Some of the int'l friend already know my gauntlet I'm about to throw down...

I could not disagree with John Campea and the int'l friends who have thus commented to this point.

Let's recap:

1) Sam listened to **"the fans"** and put Venom and the black suit in the previous film. If any of you were a party to it, (wanting the character) before you blame Raimi or anyone else, start with yourselves.

2) MY biggest beef with the lot of you, of course, is the notion that while Spidey 3 was over hyped and did not live to expectations, that means Raimi is now "a hack" and/or it is time to "reboot"/"wipe the slate clean" ...blah blah blah. Get over yourselves. Please. I'm tired of it already. The man listened to bad advice, made some errors, and suddenly, he's this indulgent crapmiester overnight.

Well, I could say the same thing about ANY filmmaker out there who had a film that didn't live up to expectations. In fact, don't we all?
Let's say, for example, "The Dark Knight" is a 'disappointment' for people. I'm not saying that will be the case, and we all said the same thing about Spider-Man 3 before it opened...i.e. "let's give it a chance' and WB decides, let's do another the previous film still made a heap of money and they decide, sure, let's have Nolan again even if at least half of the "fans" think he's some sort of uber hack just with one film.

*****

Now here's a thought. Because Del Toro will be busy with Hobbit, let's say Sam leaves Spidey to someone else and serves as a producer. What's that got to do with Del Toro? Simple. Before the Hobbit, there was a little story floating about where Del Toro wanted to "team up" with Neil Gaiman for a adap of Doctor Strange.

Now--- here's my question: Should Raimi direct Doctor Strange? What if the script of Strange was written by Gaiman? Or co-written by Del Toro?

saimi back? = instant failure. spiderman3 was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. i dont mean that in a subjective way, it was just a plain bad made movie.

I think they need to stop this project and wait for another 8-10 years before they make another Spidey film. They need to give audiences a break and they need to jump start it with a new cast. I loved the old cast but we need fresh blood.

I believe you must keep Toby as spiderman, but I agree that KD's character should at the very least be kept to a minimum. Let's face it, most spidey fans have been teased with the idea of the lizard as the next villian, so they should tear away some of the "bubble gum" and make the story a little darker ala the new Batman movie.
