Turok: The Movie
We have news today that a film based on the comic book character Turok is in the works. We get the scoop from comingsoon:
MTV talked to Adam Beach (Flags of Our Fathers), who says a movie based on the comic book character and video game franchise “Turok” is in the works:“We just finished the animated movie and now we’re going into the feature film movie [which should lens] hopefully in a couple years. We’re about to set up meetings to develop a script and put it out there,” Beach enthused. “I’ll have to beef up, and be a good guy, and save the world!”
I was introduced recently to the old school Turok comics by my friend Wintle. Turok fights dinosaurs with primitive weapons in a loincloth and doesn’t use huge fucking laser cannons. I hope they stick to the original comic book series and not the Valiant remake and/or the video game (as they are suggesting). A story about a native man that stumbles upon a lost world and has to do his best with his primitive means suits me just fine.
Dinosaurs should always be a threat, I don’t want weapons that make easy work of them. I want Turok to jump off a tree and shove sharpened sticks into the eyes of the beast and then spend months eating the meat and fashioning leather armor from his kill.
I haven’t read any of the comics, but i have played pretty much all the games that have came out. Think it would be a pretty good movie, if done right of course……
I like the games, but never knew it was a comic first. A film with dinosaurs is always welcome in my book…
The video games have practically nothing to do with the original comic books. I’d like to see an adaptation of the comics, but after the hackjob they did on the cartoon I’m not holding my breath.

I have always wanted to see this as a movie. The new game was just a mediocre fps but It did have some cool dino moments.

i think that turok is amazing, i knew it wsa a comic but never read any,
though i played every game and i think the knewest one was awesome
im sure hes gotta have a shotgun in this movie,
guts flying and him stabbing the hell outta velociraptors then jumping on a t-rex and then stab its eyes out the throw it off a cliff
i totally want this movie to happen and it better have a script by mid 2009
I loved the games of turok I played everyone of them part 1 2 and 3 on nintendo 64 and still do.And I have been waiting for this moment for 12 years,I hope you guys do make this movie,just a sugesstion make it as if it started out like 3 in the desert on an open perry with joshewa telling danny and her littel brother about the past and his adventures,and when night falls a giant bluish green portal appears and chaos erupts starting in citys,small towns,all over the world,Thats how I would do it but its up to you guys your the creators,any way I really hope you do make a movie and I will see it 10 times and over!!
i believe that the xbox 260 version of Turok would be a great basis for a movie (But not a cartoony movie) if done right i believe it will be an amazing production
