X-Men 3 is an example of a franchise that lost its soul at the loss of a dedicated director. I'd take Favreau's enthusiasm for making Iron Man 2 an actual well made movie over someone else's desire to blow more things up. a lot of people are giving Favreau crap for his demands on the sequel, citing that he could be easily replaced by a better action director.

X-Men 3 is an example of a franchise that lost its soul at the loss of a dedicated director. I’d take Favreau’s enthusiasm for making Iron Man 2 an actual well made movie over someone else’s desire to blow more things up.

At this rate, Iron Man 2 will have to be 90 mins of wrestling with booze in a bar ( and maybe Fin Fang Foom can walk in looking for trouble) because they won't have time to shoot anything more elaborate.
