Isabel Lucas shared Shia LaBoeuf’s Drunk Ride
So while Shia LaBoeuf was proving how socially irresponsible he is, he decided to endanger passengers too. And while ANY passengers would be a shame to involve in this reckless act, it turns out the lady riding shotgun was Isabel Lucas, the Australian actress also starring in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen.
Lucas, 23, who lately has been spotted on the arm of Entourage star Adrian Grenier, was already back on the set of the Michael Bay-directed Transformers 2 today, a rep for Paramount Pictures told E! News.LaBeouf, 22, underwent surgery Sunday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for extensive injuries to his left hand. He’s expected to be out of commission for about a month, after which he’ll continue shooting, according to his rep.
It is just fortunate that no one was seriously hurt, and that Shia himself got the worst of it.
I can’t help but think that Isabel is a victim of Shia’s bad choices here, but she willingly got in the truck with him, so I halfway have to hold her responsible for this too. Victim, yes. But of her own choice, not Shia’s.
But as far as Transformers goes, this does bring a bitter shadow on the project, but by the time the movie comes around everyone will have forgotten this. However I do like how later in the story Yahoo quotes “there’s plenty of stuff to shoot that doesn’t involve either LaBeouf or living, breathing humans in general ” which might be the only silver lining to this story.
So one of the biggest human players in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen skips a MONTH of filming and its no big deal. Sounds to me its more about the giant fucking robots than people.
At least I hope.

Apparently Shia wasn’t to blame for the accident…it was an idiot running a red light. I know its no excuse for drinking and driving but would anyone argue that the guy running the red light is gonna get off lightly when he could have potentially caused as much damage as a drunk driver?
You’ll have to excuse me if I don’t buy this whole “Shia wasn’t responsible” routine we’re now hearing from the LAPD.
He was still DRIVING DRUNK. The fact that the other guy ran a red light isn’t something to laugh at, but Shia was DRIVING DRUNK! Celebrity justice at its finest.
never heard of this girl before, but she’s a little hottie, watch out megan!
When you’re Spielberg’s golden boy, apparently you AREN’T considered responsible for driving drunk and getting in a car-crash…
So drunk driving is ok, as long as someone ELSE causes the accident?
Who’s to say that if Shia was sober that he wouldn’t have been able to react in time or be more aware of the guy running the red. I know I have averted accidents that would have been caused by a poor driver just by anticipating it and being aware.
He was still drunk driving. This is not a “its only illegal if you get caught” legal system.
The Intersection of LaBrea and Fountain is a dangerous one even at 3am.
This guys allready starting to get a bad rep in this town.
If he had injured Ms Lucas, the shit would have hit the fan bigtime. He was lucky.
He wasn’t even charged with drunk driving, cause they couldn’t proove it. He was taken into custody on the SUSPICION of drunk driving. They never even took a breathilyzer test.
Soooo, everyone is just really assuming he was drunk, when in fact he may have just been in shock after being HIT BY A CAR and having his hand smashed?
You kinda see where this is going?
No one is ASSUMING he was drunk. He failed the breathalizer at the hospital and the police arrested him for DUI.
It wasn’t an assumption. He was drunk.
He has a court date in August.
I don’t care whether he was drunk or not. If he was then of course he should be punished but it seems that all the focus is on the ‘celebrity’ when someone else was ALSO involved in almost taking someone’s life.
I am not sure if it still this way, but I am pretty sure. It used to be, and may still be, that a DUI was just a cop out for not being able to bust somebody for a DWI or if the person is under the influence of another substance. DWI (driving while intoxicated) was for those that broke the law by driving with a BAC of .08 or above. A DUI was issued if it was below but the cop felt that the alcohol was possibly the cause of an incident. So basically you could drink a half a beer or a single beer, and if you get pulled over and given a breathalizer, you blow a 0.01 the cop could still issue you a DUI. Again, no clue if this is still the case, but as someone mentioned earlier that his reactions that judged him under the influence may have been shock and the BAC that the possible DUI was issued under could of been for below 0.08. Since this is all unknown, I am not goin to rush in and judge the situation without all the facts. Sure it’s good ol’ PC to jump on the band wagon and get MADD about it, but hey… to each their own.
DUI and DWI are the same thing.
Driving Under the Influence
Driving While Intoxicated.
Different states call it differently and you will hear the term interchanged often on the news.
They dont arrest you for blowing UNDER on the scene of an accident someone else casued.
He is going to court because he was arrested.
You are correct, IN CALIFORNIA, DUI and DWI are the same thing. Bravo to you, Rodney! However, you should state that information like everywhere the two are the same, for it differs between states. Though, because it did occur in California, that is the only state to be worried about. Now you can post again stating the following “he got arrested for a DUI, he is going to court” because people may not have gotten that the first two times you posted it. One last thing, should you respond, could you post a link to where you read he failed a breathalizer? I am kinda curious of what else the article has to say. Last article I saw just said the following “LaBeouf was cited for misdemeanor driving under the influence, but Whitmore said officials are waiting for results of a toxicology test before filing a formal charge.” ( http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080730/lf_nm_life/labeouf_dc_2 ). Thanks.
