I'm a huge fan of this book and hope Rymer can pull off the movie adaptation successfully. I have every issue and met Michael Turner last summer in Toronto at FanExpo and he signed some issues for me. The book is getting stronger every month with a great new team, fantastic art, an intriguing storyline and a second wielder off the blade. For the movie to succeed, it needs to heed the mythology of the blade (and not re-invent it's origins), it should have a strong no-nonsense female lead who needs to be a stunning brunette but who can also play a convincing detective. Angelina Joli is too identifiable now with other projects (I.e. Tomb Raider & Wanted) for her to work now but she would have been great in the role 10 years agao. The lead should be in her early thirties (you don't make detective right out of school) and possibly an unknown. As for the supporting actors, the TV show from 2001 had perfectly cast Danny & Jake in my opinion and if they're to be in the movie, I'd say sign those actors up up for a repeat performance. I wasn't a Yancy Butler fan and I didn't think Nottingham or Irons were what Turner had originally envisioned. I picture Sara to be built more like Milla Jovovich or Charlize Theron. Irons needed to be older and sterner and Nottingham should be bigger, good-looking and alot more menacing. As for the armour itself, with a big budget, they should be more like Spawn's suit, digitally spreading out across her body rather than just the gauntlet that was featured on the TV series. Hopefully we won't see that dreadful full suit of armour that was also on the show. The trick will be how sexy to make the armour without it becoming exploitive. I think it can be done tastefully to everyone's satisfaction. Here's hoping!

Actually if you ever read Witchblade it was pretty good, as well as the Darkness. The Art of Michael Turner (who was the co-creator of Witchblade) was simply beautiful. He passed away a couple of weeks ago at the age of 37 due to cancer. May he Rest In Peace and hopefully they can honor his memory with a good movie.

OK, as good as a job as Rymer has done w/the BSG episodes he has directed one has to remember that he was also the director of the giant turd that was QUEEN OF THE DAMNED.

So, uh, WITCHBLADE? No thank you.

Rymer should stick to TV.
