“Luckily G4 put up the interview they aired of Miss Rose from Comic-Con, in it she states that Red Sonja will begin filming at the end of September and next week she begins training about 4-5 hours a day. She will be learning sword fighting, trick horse riding, free running, acrobatics and more.”

i cant wait to see the film,

despite how small she is etc. i think she will fit the role.

I saw an interview on G4 where Rose said she would be training for 5 hours a day in sword fighting, acrobatics, and other stuff starting next week

30 mills is very little for a film like this so I’m sure he’s going to get some of it back. If he can market the film to both women and men he can expect some nice profits.

A movie that cost 30m to make has a better chance of making a profit than spending 150mil hoping its a blockbuster.

30mil is respectable. Even if it does moderately well, it will make money. They are not expecting to break the bank on this (its likely going to be rated R which limits its demographic) but it has potential to do ok.

Does anyone really believe that this film will be of high interest.outside of the fanboy crowd. Rodriquez is talented and Rose is hot, but if Im a studio Im not shelling out anymore than 30 mil to back this project.

But isn’t that how she’s always been depicted? As a hot chick with a sword who kicks ass. I’ve never seen images of her as some muscle bound warrior who towers over men.
Plus we don’t know how if Rose will bulk up for the film or not

Gutpunch, the suspension of disbelief (not the suspension of belief as wrongly stated by some) can allow for the acceptance of magic, and mysticism is fine, but it shatters that suspension when you want to ground someone as a grand warrior and cheapen it saying the 80lb girl beat the barbarian army.

The only posts I deleted of his were those that violated the commenting rules. It is ok to be wrong. But you cannot say my OPINION is wrong. I can’t be emotionally committed to a waif with a sword she rightly shouldn’t be able to lift being a convincing warrior.

She’s still great for the pinups. But that’s as far as her value goes for me. I also agree with Parker above. No matter how much training you say she has, a wee thing like her has no menacing presence, even with her sword.

Rodney, in a world where people can transform in to giant snakes at will I think I will have no problem believing that a model like chick can wield a sword no matter how big it is.

And do you really think that Rose is that weak that she can’t wield that sword in the poster? It’s tiny!

And deleting Miles’s posts is weak. Be a man dude don’t delete his posts just because you don’t have an answer for them. It’s OK being wrong once in a while.
