I do not think they should use a female in this. That would be like the Iron Eagle movies. I feel that they should star Chad Michael Murray as Goose’s son and now one of the top pilots in the nation, and the reason he became another IceMan was because he wanted to face the man he feel killed his father. They could really play that up, and Chad Michael Murray would be perfect for it because he looks like he could be Goose’s son and he would be “about the right age” but they could age him up a little if they had to. That would be superior. James Lafferty could play the “Maverick” role to Murray’s “IceMan”. That would really make the movie a whole lot better!

I agree with the Scientology part, but I would like to see another Top Gun and Cruise is the only one can play Maverick, it would not be the same without him. They need to bring back Val Kilmer too.

I like the idea, but Tom Cruise is original, don’t like the second parts just MI, MI2 and MI3.

The story maybe the goose’son try to be a pilot in the same school like him father die. Remenber MEg Ryan, Val Kilmer, Ironside, and another excellent actors the budget maybe short.

finally if this film must be maker a part II, Maverick Instructor and the participation of the goose’s son, from 1986 to 2008 a guy with 27 years old, leaning fly.

My young son and I recently met Randy Arrington at a book signing in San Diego. I must confess that this soon-to-be celebrity author was a real pleasure to speak with. Not something I was expecting from a former Navy pilot who used to land jets on the pitching deck of an aircraft carrier at night. Arrington is a stunningly handsome man, but likewise he is a very down to earth human being who is obviously quite at ease while interacting with the general public. His sense of humility about the success of his book and the upcoming movie based on his novel was, in a word, refreshing and I am glad my son was there to witness his demeanor. I highly recommend picking up a copy of his novel “Kerosene Cowboys: Manning the Spare.” It is simply a brilliant and extremely entertaining piece of contemporary writing. My son Derek and I can’t wait to see the movie and all of Arrington’s incredible characters up on the silver screen.

how would it be a TOPGUN 2? the whole idea of the navy weapons fighter school is based around the decomissioned F-14 Tomcat? F-22’s or F-35’s maybe… i dunno.. besides there isn’t a single country on earth that compares to the air supremacy of the USA. the original topgun was based on a cold war theme with the USSR as rival pilots
