Neve should've been the killer in the third one. Would've made for a much better film!

Scream3 was directed by Wes Craven, but even that couldn't save it.

My problem with Scream 3 is that like the previous ones it keeps you on your toes wondering who the killer is, then in the big reveal it is a secondary uninvolved not hinted to unrevealed character that had no motives exposed, no hints nothing. Just ruined it all.

NO ONE could guess that he was the killer because unlike the red herrings dropped in the previous one, not one finger pointed at him. He didnt even have a motive until he told you about it in the end and even then it was a weak reason to suddenly go on a murderous rampage. Utter crap.

I agree that Scream4 needs to start a new batch of characters. They have exhausted the story lines of the existing cast. Maybe a cameo like Darren mentioned, but still all new people. New story. Its the only way this can avoid being tired.

"Cursed" had loads of post production problems and it showed (and bad acting to boot), but Craven bounced back with "RedEye". I liked "RedEye" a lot, and it is more of a thriller than it is horror, and while it is just under a hour and a half, it's watchable due to the actors (Cillian Murphy, Rachel McAdams and a slimmed down Brian Cox). Which one the int'l friends should see if they haven't yet? "RedEye".

I actually liked the non-Craven helmed Scream 3. I thought it was a lot better than the previous film. I actually wished it *was* the previous film.

Scream 4 talk has been surfacing lately, and if it should happen, I'm sorry. I have to throw down a gauntlet here. It's not that I don't think there should be one. I wouldn't mind another one. I just don't want Neve Campbell in it. I'd accept David Arquette and or Courtney Cox in cameos, (or another pre-recorded message from Seth Green) but other than that, a whole new cast for Scream 4.

Why, you ask?
Because it's Scream 4. And by the time horror sequels reach part 4, the majority of actors from previous films have moved on, and thus the characters are no longer around. Some characters have died to unrelated circumstances. The only returning character is usually the killer. Thus, nobody from the previous films other than cameos.

Sorry.
