The books the movies are based on have so much more intelligence than the movie. I really dont see how you can make a movie like the books. The first three came close, and if made like that again, I think it could work. Aflecks was a joke, didnt even follow the basic plot of the book.

Ryan is definetly not Bond. He is a intelligence analyst, and the books are all about him seeing the motives behind the events and acting on them. Now, the character of Clark is where the action is, and thatd make a good movie on its own.

I’d like to see Franco in this franchise. I think most people are unaware of what he’s capable of doing. It’s good that Raimi sees it.

Ricochet, yeah your right about the Bond thing, however this franchise bores me to not see it.

I thought Franco was good in Spider Man but ehh on other roles.

James Franco to me is very similar to Ben Affleck in that they are guys that when they choose the right role and are actually directed by a director there quite good.

Jack Ryan isn’t a poor man’s James Bond. Ryan isn’t a special agent/ super spy he’s not suppose to kick ass like Bond he’s much more of a normal guy that can hold his own but isn’t a trained combat fight that gets by with his smarts and determination.

I would be OK with James Franco but who I would like to see take over the character of Jack Ryan is Michael C. Hall but he’s got no B.O. appeal so that’s not going to happen but I think he’s got the right look for the role and I think he’s a hell of an actor.
