i would love that too. if she could write the story of before Harry was born that would be awesome as well as if she could finish the gap she left between voldemort death and when he is married with kids in the last chapter. she left quite a few years it could be a few series of books. please mrs Rowling make us dream a little bit longer .

I would love to have 2-3 books that go from the very beginning to when Harry was born. We have seen snippets of what happened when voldemort was let into the school and how snape was made fun of… but give us the entire story of when they were all in school up until harry was “scarred”!!!!! puhleeeezzzzeeeeee!!!!!????!!!

There is a little know book store in the Harry Potter universe that fan may recall. This shop resides in the wizard market called Diagon Alley. The shop I am talking about is called Flourish & Blotts. I think when it comes to the Harry Potter universe J. K. Rowling will only write book that you might find in Flourish & Blotts or even in Hogwart Library.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2001)
Quidditch Through the Ages (2001)
The Tales of Beedle the Bard (2007)
Untitled Harry Potter prequel (2008)

Besides the 800 word prequel there has not been a “Harry Potter” book. In my opinion the prequel would be classified as a “non-Harry Potter” book. I say this because this book is really a card with only 800 words. This story takes place 3 years before Harry’s birth and it is the adventures experienced by Sirius Black and James Potter. The only reason she wrote the prequel was for a charity auction. and I quote “JK Rowling’s story finishes with the handwritten words: ‘From the prequel I am not working on – but that was fun!’”

This woman barely had a red cent before she wrote Harry Potter. I hear she was poor and writing it out with a pen and paper. As someone who has yet to read all the series myself, but has skimmed, I’m impressed with the quality of her work. I’m amazed I’ve read more Star Wars books. Movies are much easier to produce than books believe it or not. Action is by far, very hard to write because you have to be so specific about it on one end and be accurate on the other end, so its easier to put together fight scenes for the camera than it is for the written word. Just a thought.

I think originally she said that this one would not be widely published, that the scant special editions would be the only copies. I figured she would change her mind and cash in eventually, and who can blame her?

She wrote this book a while ago and auctioned off a handmade copy or something. So I don’t think it means anything for future books, though of course I believe she willl do the guide.

TZaylor, when I said I suspected, I clearly meant BEFORE they announced she was going to do that and sued the guy who did the online lexicon and published his own.

Considering it is a collection of 5 Fairy Tales and retailing at $15 I am not expecting a 700pg epic.
