Paris Goes To Court Over Pledge This

By Doug - August 14, 2008 - 11:59 America/Montreal

Paris-Hilton

It appears Paris is getting sued for not promoting Pledge This, a film in which she starred. We get this peculiar scoop from our friends at cinematical:

The AP reports that a lawsuit has been filed in Miami, claiming that she owes $75,000 for not making good on her promotional obligations. She was paid $1 million for her “acting services” as well as “reasonable promotion and publicity.” So I guess she filled over 90% of her contractual obligations, but just slacked in that last 10. Bad worker Hilton.

I am with Paris on this one. You know what’ s reasonable publicity and promotion from Paris Hilton for 1 million dollars – acting in your movie and putting her name on the poster. Like her or not, she’ s one of the most recognizable faces on the planet and getting her for a million is a flat out deal. Sorry that your movie sucked, but don’t put the blame on Hilton for not standing on a soapbox to shill your bag of shit.

It appears that when you make a shitty movie nowadays you not only live with shame, but the threat of a lawsuit.

Wait, Paris fucking Hilton gets 1 MILLION DOLLARS! for acting in a movie?
It’s just sad to think about all that money going to such a fucking waste. Think of all the good things you could do with that amount of cash.

  2. Moviereign says:

Wow… i never thought paris was attractive at all… until that sweet picture

  3. Robert(wolf) says:

Great picture of Hilton’s body, but her face looks like Goblins pissed on her face.

  4. MechoPower says:

Who cares how much she was paid…if she signed the fucking contract then she should make good on what she agreed to no matter what the paycheck said. now if the company didnt specify exactly what is was they wanted her to do and now want to act like a bunch of big babies cause their flicked sucked, then i could see a reason to side with jackass up there. As for the million dollars…how much do you think she should have gotten…she sucks at acting and is only famous cause of mommy and daddy…i never seen any thing that says you should be paid big cause mommy and daddy made you big…i am surprised she is worth paying that much to have in a movie!!!

  5. doug nagy says:

It doesn’t matter if she sleeps in your film for 40 minutes, she is worth more than a million because of who she is, not what she can do. Everyone knows who she is, and that is worth lots.

I am not saying this is good or bad, just the way of things.

  6. Mr. Chris says:

It’s a National Lampoon movie. Suing their own stars is the only way they make money these days.

  7. Ransom says:

“her face looks like Goblins pissed on her face.”

This just made me lol at work. My coworker outside my office gave me a funny look.

  8. Ransom says:

Paris is famous for more than just her Mommy and Daddy. Sure, their money helped her to get famous, but she did the rest all by herself. Did you not see that video she was in? The amateur one??

  9. Dragonslayer says:

Just put her in jail so she can leave us all ALONE.

  10. Mr. Chris says:

Just an afterthought, but they probably could’ve made more money if she promoted the film even less. Advertising a Paris Hilton movie is like trying to sell a kick in the balls.

  11. John says:

I’ve got to disagree with Doug on this. Paris Hilton is only worth as much as she can bring in… and her movies have all… without exception… BOMBED.

Her latest film, “The Hottie and the Nottie” made $27,690.00

Yes… I made more money last year than Paris Hilton’s movie made

So no, she’s not worth $1 million for your film… at all. She has no talent, and she has no drawing power. You need to have one or the other, and she has neither.

  12. DJ Machismo says:

100% with John on this one.

Box office draw, not name/face recognition gets you the paychecks in Hollywood. She has almost zero box office draw.

Dare I say the only people watching her movies are people who need to review it, or overly devoted fans with nothing better to do. In either case, I do not envy the position.

  13. George says:

Was she meant to do a press junket at blockbuster???

wasn’t this piece of junk straight to dvd?

  14. Calviin says:

Just an editing comment, but the use of your FTW seemed out of place. Did you mean it by its most common usage of For The Win or did you have some obscure acronym you thought it stood for?

  15. doug nagy says:

I actually wrote that in for a joke but meant to take it out.

    hahaha

  16. Kevster says:

She missed a great opportunity to say to them ‘okay, I’ll do some promotion’ and then tell every interviewer that the movie sucks balls.

She’s not worth £1million for her acting, but they’ve got more than $1m worth of advertising through using her. I doubt the film would have made it on here or many other sites without her being in it.

Maybe they could cast her as Vicky Vale in the next Batman film to cash in on her name as well.

  17. wxph8r says:

Suing her is just as good as her honoring her advertising. This will draw more interest in the film than if she actually fulfilled her contract. No one wants to see this movie and no one will, but there will always be those few that say hey, I remember she was being sued over this film! Let’s go see how horrible she actually is! lol

  18. Supernetuser says:

This just proves that Paris Hilton is a slacker at times and doesn’t know the meaning of the words Work Ethic. All that money could have gone to another good cause of some sort, yes, Swarez, you’re right about that one. It makes me sick to think about how that money could have been spent but instead Hollywood stars squander their hard earned cash on cars, mansions, and still more things. They keep on adopting children. There is a limitation to everything yet they have more money than many of us will ever see in our lives. If only Robin Hood’s philosophy meant something to nonprofits who could negotiate away the money Hollywood types and Indie film types get. Imagine how much money the rest of the world would have if celebs bothered to share.

  19. 790 says:

If anything she can hurt a film, anything with her in it, is the sign of low quality.

When you see photos like the one above, think?? Hep A or B?

  20. Dragonslayer says:

Who cares? She’s probably the most annoying person ever. Just leaves us all ALONE.
