Clock Tower Set For Adaptation

By Doug - September 11, 2008 - 13:11 America/Montreal

Brittany Snow 2The video game Clock Tower is going to be getting an adaptation. Brittany Snow is on board and ready to start bailing waster on this ship that is destined to sink. We get the following scoop from the professionals at Variety:

Brittany Snow will star in Senator Entertainment’s vidgame adaptation “Clock Tower,” with Martin Weisz directing the production, which begins in November in Los Angeles.

Story centers on a troubled psychiatric patient who witnessed her parents die and is constantly plagued by religious imagery.

The last time I saw Ms. Snow she was in the atrocious Prom Night. She is following up that horror film with an adaptation of the video game Clock Tower. I have heard cool things about Clock Tower, but never played it myself. Video game adaptations usually suck, and I doubt that this will be the one to break the mold.

Surprises happen however and perhaps Ms. Snow will redeem herself for that last waste of money that I had the displeasure of seeing.

I can’t see this breaking any molds at all. The game looks like another survival horror, only this one plays out more like a typical slasher flick where the main character just runs and hides all the time. But at least it’s a game series that supposedly has a stronger focus on plot.

As someone who is really into games. I see the problem with games being turned into film is that most of the video games out there have really bad story lines.

Only one that I can being a pretty cool story to be told on the big screen is the Metal Gear games. Hideo Kojima would be a pretty good writer for movies. I think he should drop games and just make movies. Maybe Splinter Cell, even Rainbow Six. Almost all Tom Clancy games would be cool to seen turned into movies.

I can’t wait for the day that someone out there can bring video games to the big screen without failing.

Ms Snow is plenty pretty, and she was fine in Hairspray.

    Just sayin.

  4. Sam Levin says:

Sometimes all it takes to fix a bad movie is to put a hot girl in it. =P

  5. Christian says:

What the hell. If there isn’t a guy with huge scissors, then this movie will blow. The story could be different, I don’t care……..but you need a guy with huge scissors.
