Date For Watchmen Court Battle Set
A judge has thrown down the gavel and decreed the date for the WB/Fox Watchmen battle. We get the following announcement from the justice caves of Yahoo:
The battle between Fox and Warner Bros. over the rights to the comic-book adaptation “Watchmen” took a big step toward resolution Tuesday when the federal judge presiding over the dispute set a January 6 trial date for the case.
Well yesterday we learned that Warner was pushing for an April trial, and Fox was pushing for June; the judge has done much better and decided to take care of business in January. This pleases me, I want this issue resolves on the quick so we can get back to discussing the film itself.
I read 2 more chapters of Watchmen last night and was pleased to see the blue guy go to the red planet and set up a cottage.
I just started reading the comic for the first time at work the other night. I’m slightly ahead of you, but only by a chapter and a half I think.

That’s still cutting it damn close to release. Even though its the fans who get screwed, the guy i feel most sorry for is Zack Synder who is caught in the middle of all this, having put the upmost passion and care into making this supposedly unfilmable movie and having to see it hang in the balance.

The only good way to read Watchmen is really nice and slow.
So many layers to each individual story, so many details to absorb.
I envy those who are reading it for the first time.
It will take more readings to fully grasp the whole story.
I look forward to the film and hope it does justice to the graphic novel.

Dogbone, youre so right! I’ve only read it once. But then I went to a website that broke down all the much more complex messages and connections and I was in awe.
