This was an alright film, not great but alritght and the storyline felt incomplete jumbled and didn’t really highlight the humour that it was meant to have. I personally did enjoy the second half of the film where Gervais brought some life back although not for long unfortunately.

I thought Ghost Town was pretty good, Gervais really didn't do it for me though until around midway through the film. This is mainly because his full comedy value could be exploited by a lot of the ghosts and the situations he is forced into by Kinnear's character.

I found it to be along the same lines as 'How to lose friends and alienate people'.

after seeing this film and reading the reviews i am shocked that anyone enjoyed it! the film is appropriately named "ghost town" as that is just what the cinema was during the showing. Ok there were a few laughs but only thanks to Ricky Gervais. The overall story line was simple and predicable and the characters were not exactly believable or consistant as people have already mentioned, but what really got me was the poor camera-man ship, the angle often spoiled the point that the film was trying to make and even worse then that was the mic! if a head was on screen it was more often then not paired with the bobbing mic boom. i mean how could something this simple have been missed! it just makes it come across as a budget film (ok i wasn't expecting a multi million blockbuster but still its just basic) and how did everyone not notice it, at times the mic was more notible then any of the actors on the screen.

I thought "Ghost Town" was funny in a midly ordinary way. You're right about Gervais, without him this film would be nothing. It entirely hangs on his odd charms. TO me the problem with the film, and the problem with all of Gervais' roles in film so far is that it is just too damn mainstream. This movie was stodgy and sentimental, and my laughs were more of the "oh that's cute" funny, that the "Damn now that is FUNNY" kind that I get from his TV work.

His TV work is revolutionary, it has changed my very expectations of TV comedy. Yet his film work, or at leas this choice of projects is almost boring. I think he should be doing a small indie film with a real edge instead of safe mainstream dare like "Ghost Town"

Oh and I did shed a tear or two during the a fore mentioned squirrel scene. I am a sentimental boob it seems.
