Harold & Kumar 3/Til Beth Do Us Part

By Doug - September 25, 2008 - 11:23 America/Montreal

Nph

Harold & Kumar are getting a third. May the glory of NPH shine anew upon us all. We get the following scoop from the chronic caves of Yahoo:

Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who wrote “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle” and wrote and directed “Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay,” will write and direct the comedy “‘Til Beth Do Us Part” for Warner Bros.

The feature will focus on two twentysomething males whose close friendship is put to the test when one of them becomes engaged.

“Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle” became a crossover hit for New Line in 2004. Hurwitz and Schlossberg are signed to write the third movie in the franchise, with an option to direct.

I’m glad to see the series make it to three and I hope they bring the story to a resounding conclusion. The second film was more outlandish than the first and I hope this trend scales further upward for the next installment. I want to see NPH riding another beast of some sort and I cannot wait to see him explain how he escaped death at the hands of the hookers.

The Harold & Kumar films are fun marijuana comedies and have held the torch high for this generation. While not as classic as Cheech and Chong, they are no slouches and will forever be worthy representatives of the genre. Long live the chron.

*****UPDATE*****

I forgot to include information regarding Til Beth Do Us Part in the original article and have not been able fix this post till now due to a drop off of internet service at my house. I apologize, this was an oversight that should not have been made.

So yes, in addition to Harold And Kumar 2, Til Beth Do Us Part is a film in the works by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.

  1. Why don’t they just make a movie that is a documentary of the Fictional “real life” of NPH.

Do we really need to have Harold and Kumar in another movie? They could maybe be side characters like NPH was in #1. Maybe…

I didn’t see #2 and have no real desire too, either. But I love the ongoing joke about NPH!

  2. Slushie Man says:

I don’t see what that quote has to do with Harold and Kumar, except that it’s saying the people behind this upcoming movie, also did those.

  3. sean says:

i dont think this has anything to do with h&k

  4. HAZMAT_PWNS_ALL says:

    omfg these movies were histerical!!!

    i wish theyd make 6 of them…

i personally LOVE the scene when they try to drive through the basketball game in the middle of the ghetto

    “oh wtf MY JORDANS!!”

    XDDDDD

  5. Slushie Man says:

It doesn’t. It even says in the original article that it’s not a Harold and Kumar movie. The only thing the article says about a third Harold and Kumar, is that the same writers as the first two movies, are signed on to write the third movie, which has been known for over a year now anyway.

And that’s not even the part of the article that Doug quoted. Way to go Doug, way to go. You post about some random unrelated movie, and completely skip over the actual part of the article that talks about Harold and Kumar 3, however breifly.

  6. RiZE says:

A third H&K would be great… personally the two movies are in my top 10 comedies. I only hope they keep them quality

  7. Meli says:

IF they make another Harold & Kumar I want NPH in it for the majority of movie because he was pretty much the only good thing about the 2nd movie.

  8. David Lay says:

Not H&K 3… Hollywood writers are now allowed to create more than one project. This is like saying that Superbad is the sequel to 40 Year Old Virgin…albeit both movies are very good.

  9. Lee says:

dang, got my hopes up. id love another H&K

  10. doug nagy says:

sorry guys – I fucked up and my internet has been down all day so I cannot fix this post as of yet

    I apologize

  11. Broly says:

    That’s ok people make mistakes.

  12. doug nagy says:

Updated and the problems have been fixed.

  13. Sahil says:

They need to stop while they are ahead.

  14. 790 says:

Bring it, I love these guys!

86 the full frontal male bs,,,, thanks.

  15. Dragonslayer says:

As long as Jason Freiberg and Aaron Selzer (Meet the Spartans) don’t direct it, I’m fine

  16. aaron says:

i love the harold and kumar movies!! they and Seth Rogen rule comedy right now. second one was soo funny, so we will see how this one is. lol anyone remember the very end of Guantanamo Bay? lol Neil Patrick Harris “wtf”? classic! but i don’t want them ruining the other kings of comedy right now. can’t wait for #3, but a little concerned

  17. KBJ says:

I really enjoy the 2 movies alot saw in movies got dvd and will for sure see #3 I rank high in the stoner movies of all time as well as Half Baked. I dig they not stupid stoners.A change for better and hope to seem more of this change.I did not like Dude wheres my car due to making stoner liik like bone heads.Funny well done series of movies.

  18. KBJ says:

They need to stop while they are ahead.
    Why

The first one was a big hit on DVD so so in movies most do not go to movies for this type of film.

Part two a lot went and even more got the DVD this time.

I am sure #3 will do just as well its a winning formula due to the actors talent

Cost to make and profit off it is out standing.

I like house a lot and its so cool to see one land on a major hit show like that and not comedy shows how well they can act

  19. David says:

Ok well I saw Harold in PetCo about a 4 months ago.I love the way he plays in the movies but his a real douche in the outside world.I asked him if their making a third movie. And he answered back with saying quote “No were skipping to five”.I am like wow wtf dude I am just asking…(I didnt say this to him tough still amazed by the fact i actually talked to him.Well ya just wanted to share my experience with encountering Harold.

  20. cheech says:

ok, for all the people who think NPH is the only good thing about harold and kumar, ur missing the point. Its always been about the stoner trip. Its the ‘funny because its true’ effect. And the racist comments through the movie mock racism in a wonderful way. So for those of you who dont smoke, or deal with racism, dont hate on the movie – ur just missing a lot of the humor.
