Get Smart 2
It looks like Steve Carell will be using the shoe phone anew in Get Smart 2. We get the following sequel news thanks to our friends at comingsoon:
Variety reports that Warner Bros. Pictures is developing a sequel to Get Smart. Steve Carell would return to play Maxwell Smart.
The first film, also starring Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, Alan Arkin and Terence Stamp, has earned $130 million domestically and $94 million internationally for a global total of $224 million. It cost about $80 million to make.
For some reason I never expected this film to have a sequel. I fully admit that this was stupid of me, most everything that makes money has a sequel; this is no different.
It wasn’t my task to review the original and still need to see it, but with such mixed reviews, I’m in no rush.
I am suspecting that the real reason for the sequel is simply because those involved like to hang out with Anne Hathaway. Thats as good a reason as any. They say that when she eats bananas on set, you can hear the boners wailing. Wailing like starving wolves at the moon.
Bet anything The Rock is making frantic phone calls right now trying to get on board this thing. I doubt Tooth Fairy movies are gonna do much for his career.
I’m sorry but Anne Hathaway really isn’t as great of an actress as most would have you believe.
I don’t think Get Smart 2 will be a huge success but I’m sure there are people out there very excited about this.

Anne Hathaway was the only good part of Get Smart.
Anyone catch her hosting SNL? It was pretty funny.
I hate the work of Peter Segal with the exception of Tommy Boy. His direction of comedies play like a “How to make a comedy film” book from the 70’s. They are predictable and boring. His direction makes George Lucas look like Clint Eastwood. I saw the free 8 minute clip on itunes and it was horrible.
honestly get smart was boring for the most part. too hyped up, hopefully this will be better
